I recently went to AV Dental Surgery in Palmdale for a wisdom tooth extraction, and I have to say, the whole experience was awesome. From the moment I called to make the appointment to the actual procedure, everything was smooth. The staff was super friendly and explained everything clearly, including what my insurance would cover and what I’d need to pay. Complete transparency, which I really appreciated.

The surgeon was great! She explained why we didn’t need to do anything about an adult tooth in my gums (it’s not causing pain and might be fused to the bone at my age) and focused on the wisdom teeth. She even decided to take out both bottom ones instead of just the one my regular dentist referred me for, which I liked because it just made sense to get it all done at once.

I opted for sedation because I get anxious at the dentist, and it was such a smooth process. They put the IV in, and next thing I knew, I was waking up with everything done! Recovery has been easy with little to no pain.

As someone who usually gets pretty bad dental anxiety, this was such a positive experience. From the front office to the surgeon and her team, everyone was amazing. I’d definitely recommend AV Dental Surgery in Palmdale. A+ experience all around!

My wisdom teeth came in as a teen and didn’t bother me until I was 39! I called because I was in a lot of pain and they made me an appt next day! It’s been 10 days and I am nearly completely healed and had the easiest recovery. Hardly needed any ibuprofen after. I did opt for sedation because I was nervous and that was the best decision for me.

My daughter needed a jaw expander removal that was causing problems. We were referred here.We were helped by Marcela she was amazing with my daughter, very attentive kind and patient with us. Dr. Lopez take care of removing the expander. He make my kid super comfortable as she was very nervous He successfully removed it. My daughter didn't experience any pain or discomfort at all. We are extremely happy with how we were treating here.

Our daughter needed to get her wisdom teeth taken out and was referred to the AV Dental Surgery Center,because to remove her wisdom teeth was considered a risky procedure due to the roots of her wisdom teeth straddling the nerves in her jaw,and our dentist felt it was best to leave it up to the remarkable abilities of the AV Dental Surgery Center. We drove a long ways to get there,and went in to the reception area and were greeted by a very professional nice and warm young lady. We sorted out the forms and seated ourselves to wait for what was next. The waiting room was pretty comfortable and there were tvs and plants and magazines to pass the time. The winter light cast a relaxing glow in the waiting room from the morning sun. Our daughter was quite nervous about getting her wisdom teeth removed,but I assured her everything would be fine. For this procedure our daughter would be "put to sleep" and for this aspect as well I told her all is well. I also joked with her how my experience was quite different when we had our wisdom teeth taken out many years ago at a totally different place.We were not put to sleep,and just had local anesthetic. We were led to a room where a very friendly female dentist came and talked to us about what was wrong,what needed to be done and any recommendations she had. She has a very good way of speaking to people and it shows that she cares...which is huge. I was told it would be about an hour ,so I left my cell number for them to call me when our daughter was done. I ran some errands which by the way there are tons if stores a 5 minute drive away.They called me on my cell phone as told,and since I was already back in the parking lot,I just got out of the car and walked to the side/back entrance to the Recovery Room. Yes they have a recovery room where you can sit and wait/warm up after your procedure.It is nice because you dont have to walk out the front past everyone all drowsy and whatnot. Our daughter is feeling better now,and we are glad we chose AV Dental Surgery Center.THANK YOU AND GREAT JOB AV DENTAL SURGERY CENTER !!! YOU'RE KILLIN IT !

Not really recommending this Dentist because my 2extrations were infected as he pulled 2 teeth and put in 2 grafts that failed! I went back several times and had to get a second opinion because they performed another procedure yuk 🙃 I still do not have implants since February I should of looked at the reviews before going there my Bad !

I had a wonderful experience here, as a very anxious person i was mortified at the idea of being put under. However Dr. Portnoff and the staff made everything go by extremely smooth. I can’t thank the staff enough especially Marcela, for helping me feel comfortable as a very nervous patient. Such a caring and friendly staff. Dr Lopez is so empathetic to my anxiety regarding mouth surgery. He has such a very calm and reassuring demeanor. Great doctor and staff highly recommend!!!
