February 2025 appointment was the third or fourth time my adult disabled daughter has gone to Barnes Dental Surgery Center in Visalia CA.
It is over a two hour drive from where my daughter and I live.
This was her first time having to have an oral surgeon extract an impacted wisdom tooth.
The office staff, the nurses, the anesthesiologist were so professional
& kind to my daughter and myself while we were there for her appointments.
It is very difficult at times when you have someone who does not understand what a medical or dental appointment is. When they are scared and frightened of any office setting.
The staff, nurses, anesthesiologist and dentists have always been very patient with my daughter every time I have gone there.
The oral surgeon gallantly volunteers his time & expertise for free ( which nowadays, is just unheard of... unless it is a truly kind person. An actual hero in my book! )
I do hope that Barnes Dental office in Visalia will be able to stay open to help all people, but especially the disabled patients who need extra help in a dental setting.
As without them, people would have to drive more than 8 hours away to get help for their special needs children and the wait list in L.A. is so very long.
I honestly don't know why the county or the state does not help the dentists more who are trying to help the disabled. So there could be many more offices like this throughout the state of california and other states...
Instead the state makes the less fortunate to have to wait months or even a year or more in pain for the UCLA Dental Surgery - when they can't get their teeth fixed unless they have an anesthesiologist to help them to calm down to get the work done they need.
I sincerely pray that Barnes Dental Center in Visalia can stay open for a very long time to help these many, many patients who need them so desperately and are not able to drive 8 or 9 hours south to Los Angeles.

I am grateful for the time and dedication the entire team puts in to every patient. We arrived early and waited patiently for my son's turn. He needed sedation and a whole mouth full of dental work to be completed; the team stayed hours beyond closing to take care of everything as we live 5 hours away and they respected our time as well. Great communication with everyone on the team throughout my sons entire treatment. We will be returning in 3 weeks for my sons crowns to be installed and hoping everything goes as planned with our return visit. Very professional caring and compassionate service. I will refer customers that are willing to travel as they accepted my insurance and they offered the full sedation my son needed.

Barnes Dental Surgery Center is amazing!!! They made my Special Needs son feel comfortable and relaxed, they preformed all his dental work in one visit. They kept me informed how he was doing the whole time. Staff, Dentist, and anesthesiologist were friendly and patient with my son.

I took my very nervous 10 year old here. All the staff were so nice. They all talked to me and my daughter, walked us through the process, were patient when she was crying from being scared, and gave her a special bear to hold. They allowed my mom and I to go into the surgical pre room to get her tucked into her bed before her sedation. The only thing that I would say is please be patient. You may jave to wait past your appointment time. This is because they take the appropriate time that each patient needs to address all their issues. Really appreciated this team. Julie, dr. Yoshida, all of them helped turn the tears into smiles.

We were so very thankful to God and felt very blessed that our son was referred to Barnes Surgery Center. The Dentist, Anesthesiologist , Nurses and office staff were perfect. They all made a very stressful situation as comfortable to us as possible. Especially to our son who is autistic. We will definitely come back as needed and recommend to everyone we know. I highly recommend Barnes Dental Surgery Center. The whole process from start to finish went smoothly. This dental practice doesn't normally accept the dental insurance we have, but our insurance company made special arrangements with the dental practice and still covered the dental work my daughter needed. We only paid for the anesthesia since that isn't covered by insurance. Our daughter is a special needs child and she doesn't do well at Dr offices. The staff at Barnes Surgery were amazing with her and kept her calm and comfortable throughout the visit. Julie was her nurse and she was phenomenal. Dr Yoshida was very transparent with us and kept us in the loop and walked us through the entire procedure. We were well informed every step of the way. The anesthesiologist was very personable and informative as well. I have nothing but positive feedback and high marks to give for Barnes Dental Surgery Center. We will definitely be returning to this practice in the future if our daughter needs more dental work in the future. Thank you to Dr Yoshida, nurse Julie and the rest of the staff that made this a positive experience for our daughter. God bless you!
