I recently had my wisdom tooth removed by Dr. Vaughan and Nurse Brenda, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From the initial consultation, Dr. Vaughan was incredibly helpful, explaining everything in a clear and easy-to-understand manner, which was especially important to me as a first-timer with no prior knowledge of the procedure.

On the day of the surgery, I had an outstanding experience. Nurse Brenda went above and beyond by answering all my questions in my native language, Spanish, with patience and clarity. Her kindness and care during the process of administering the IV were greatly appreciated.

Dr. Vaughan performed the surgery excellently, and I am now enjoying a remarkably fast recovery. Another aspect that truly impressed me was the follow-up care. They called me the day after the surgery to ensure I was doing well and even offered live assistance via text, promptly addressing some concerns that arose later on the 3rd day.

Overall, the professionalism and care provided by Dr. Vaughan and Nurse Brenda made this a positive and reassuring experience. I highly recommend their services.

I had 4 wisdom teeth extracted from Half Moon Dental. Two were impacted and broken, so I was super nervous. They were AMAZING. Every person who works there is so kind and efficient. My initial meeting to discuss the procedure was quick, easy, and they were very thorough about letting me know how it would go. They are also very good at ensuring you understand what is going on and helping with any questions you may have. I have dental anxiety and can honestly say this is one of the best experiences I have had with a dentist. They are also excellent with communicating about your appointment via text, which I opted in for and appreciated. They made me feel very comfortable before and during the procedure (what I remember of it, haha!) and explained everything so I felt totally equipped to handle recovery. I will be recommending them to any friends or family who need care that Half Moon provides. I’m glad I’ll never need to get my wisdom teeth out again, but sad that means I’ll probably never get to be treated by Half Moon in the future! Thanks for doing such an awesome job, being patient-focused, and making me re-think how anxious I am to have work done on my teeth!

Updating to include a picture based on the response I received. I was charged an unauthorized “Misc Debit” on the final statement, and I followed up four times (Dec. 27; Jan. 4; Jan. 16; Feb. 5) asking for the charge to be clarified. Ghosted. It’s unfortunate because I actually had a good experience with the dentist himself. He was friendly, took care of what I needed done, and seems to be a true expert in his field. I don’t take lightly leaving this review, but other prospective patients need to be aware. Unfortunately, based on my experience and from what I’ve read in other reviews, this place appears to have shady billing practices and staff need better training. A little communication and customer service can go a long way.

Absolute best! I was referred to Half Moon thru the VA Community Care. I needed full mouth extraction and bone surfacing due to broken, missing, and just overall bad teeth. I was more nervous anticipating the pain I would be in during my recovery/healing. Anyway, surgery went great. Afterwards, I had no pain at all! Great experience! ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN. I had a prescription for pain killers, but never had to take them. So grateful for Dr. Vaughan and his team. The staff are so friendIy. HIGHLY recommend HALF MOON ORAL FACIAL & IMPLANT SURGERY.

10/10 would recommend. 3 wisdom teeth pulled in less than 20 minutes. Opted out of sedation and didn’t feel anything at all. This dentist is great at what he does. My Fiancé was waiting for me and shocked at how quickly I was done. I literally said “What a good time. That was nothing.”

TLDR: The staff is extremely efficient, to the point, and friendly.

The surgeon was pleasant and kind.

Something that others may need reassurance on:

If you have terrible teeth like me (not managed due to crippling untreated depression/anxiety for several years), they will not judge you or say rude things. They constantly look to move you through the wait list too - huge kudos there.

If you opt for general anesthesia, you'll be out before you know it and awake a second later ready to leave with your driver.

Huge kudos/thanks to the staff. I feel like I'm moving in the right direction to better oral health, sorely needed after 8+ years of neglect.

My deepest thanks again for the care you all provided from the front staff's efficiency, timely communication, and the surgeon's relaxing demeanor.

Friendly staff, good people all around. Did many things far better than the top rated place in town, for example I was able to fill out my medical history and all that other stuff online, saving paper AND time. Overall, I’m very glad I went with these folks to get my wisdom teeth out. Thank you everyone at half moon!
