PROS:
Diciccio Freeman Orthodontics did a phenomenal job on my daughter's teeth! Mind you, this is only phase 1 (of possibly 2 phases) due to her age and circumstances. She was very, extremely nervous and anxious about getting braces and heard from her friends that braces hurt. However, DFO was very friendly (towards my daughter and us as parents), helpful, responsive, personable (easy to approach with questions / clarifications/ follow-ups, etc) cool (calm, laid back, easy going), courteous, funny (humorous, went along with whatever my daughter was feeling that day, joked with her, asked her questions about her hobbies/likes/dislikes/food, simply made each appointment fun), thorough (told us everything they were doing to my daughter every step of the way and what the purpose was for).
I take consultations very seriously because it sets the tone / gives me an idea of how they will be like during my time with them and it is their chance to win me over. (First impression really is a lasting impression!)
I took my daughter to 3 different orthodontists for consultations. I had several criteria (same ones for each orthodontics) in mind and wanted to see which one would best meet our needs / criteria. ((Timely appointments (see us at our appointment time- ON TIME), kid-friendly, friendly, professional, responsive, thorough, patient, competent, flexible, compassionate, and kind. Just in case you were wondering))
Diciccio Freeman Ortho won in every criteria I had during consultation!
I got SO lucky because they showed up the same way for every single appointment we had during our 13-month time together!
Trust me when I say that. I am the most knit picky with high expectation person when I am spending this much money on something!
Jensen, Alisha, Karissa, Jessica, Dr. Park, Dr. Lucas were AMAZING to work with!
Huge plus but not necessary: EVERY single person at DFO had BEEEAUTIFUL TEETH/SMILE! (the first thing that I physically look at when I meet someone is their smile, and boy.. I have seen nothing short of beautiful and straight teeth at DFO. It is AMAZING! That is how you know that this place TRULY stand for and behind beautiful smiles/teeth, literally!! (I know, not everyone can afford braces), and like I said earlier.. Huge plus but not necessary.. but wow! Just, wow! I am impressed by everyone's beautiful and straight teeth/smiles!
Cons: My only complaint is their on-call. Whoever was behind their on-call system was not helpful AT ALL. Incompetent.
My daughter's wire came out of the molar bracket during Christmas week. It was Thursday Dec 26th around noon. The person behind the on-call text messages told us, "Slide the wire back into the molar bracket with tweezers / pliers OR use a large nail clipper to cut the wire off right behind the tooth that is before / in front of the molar."
I did not want to attempt cutting the wire so I went to buy new pliers and tweezers.
We tried sliding the wire back into the molar bracket as they advised us. It came out an hour later. We did it again. It came out again. 3 different times after that.
I then texted them back. They told me to use a large nail clipper to clip off the wire where the bracket before the molar one ends.
I did not want to use an unclean nail clipper, so at 9pm, I went to the store and bought several different kinds of large nail clippers and pliers. I tried it. It did not work. The wire was much too thick to be cut by a nail clipper. I texted them again. They said I would have to wait until Monday to be seen and to tell my 8-year-old to eat on the opposite side until then.
Thankfully, we were very close to the end of our term with them. Otherwise, I would have a lot of issues with them if it happened again and we encountered the same kind of response from an incompetent staff (went against one of my criteria I had when picking an ortho) behind the on-call phone. I was and still am frustrated just thinking about it. If they cannot see us, at least give us advice that would actually remedy our problem from home!
