Dr. Hockel and his team are truly exceptional! My 4-year-old daughter, who has Down syndrome, usually struggles with any kind of medical visit, but the whole experience here was such a pleasant surprise. From the moment we walked in, the staff was patient, welcoming, and incredibly sweet with her, going out of their way to make us both feel safe and comfortable. Dr. Hockel himself was fantastic—he took so much time to answer all my questions in detail, with a level of kindness and care that felt truly genuine. He made me feel like my daughter was his top priority. I left the appointment feeling well-informed and cared for, and I could tell he’s a doctor who genuinely cares about his patients. My son is a patient of Dr. Hockel and we cannot say enough good things about every member of the staff and our experience there. Dr. Hockel is an excellent and skilled orthodontist as well as an expert in airway health and restoration. He is working closely with our oral surgeon and ENT to prepare my son for extensive oral surgery. He and all of his staff are not only skilled but compassionate, kind and caring. They make us feel like members of the family and I feel confident my son is in great hands. We recommend Dr. Hockel and his staff highly.

I heard about Doctor Hockel and Life Dental at the Walnut Creek Oktoberfest and won a free consultation. I’m an adult who was seeking an Invisalign quote for treatment. First of all, the attention to detail from the whole office was palpable. My name was on the welcome sign as a new patient, which brought a smile. They had a really cool building with rich history and they gave me a tour. They had a refreshments area with drinks and snacks. Katie was my guide through it all. She was friendly and personable. They took both pictures and X-rays. Dr. Hockel came in to assess everything and talk about treatment plans. The amount of time he spent with me made me feel really taken care of. He was so honest and genuine with me which is what I appreciated most. I didn’t feel like he was trying to just get a sale or patient out of me. I felt like he really cared about the overall health and best interest regardless of dental/ortho and regardless of potentially losing business. His niche of airway knowledge lead to a referral for a sleep study which can help with my overall health. He was the first person to not recommend certain treatment because it’s not the most pressing concern, my airway and breathing needs attention first. Truly grateful for this visit. Dr. Hockel is a true professional along with all his colleagues and employees. Thanks yall!

Dr Hockel came very highly recommended and after our visit today, we can see why! His office is beautiful inside and outside, and the staff is so friendly, welcoming and professional. My 5 year old son was there for a consult and all the staff members were patient and supportive, and Dr Hockel took a lot of time to review his case. We left feeling really good about our sons plan of care, with all our questions answered and a clear understanding of what to expect. Dr Hockel is kind, smart and very thorough. We are thrilled our son will be his patient and feel very thankful for the recommendation.

I'm sure Hockel is a good dentist. But in my case, he assisted a colleague in hiding surgical relapse through orthodontic camouflage. My teeth were slowly flared radically outward, leaving me with malocclusion and 40% bone loss in my maxilla. All delivered with a smile and complete denial of the underlying cause (failure to diagnose). Patient autonomy? None here for me. Very disappointed in the lack of ethics.

My daughter felt very comfortable getting a tooth extraction and a filling( even though she was very scared at other dentist clinics ) Other places recommended a baby root canal on that molar, but dr Blaise was honest and didn’t try to rip us off with unnecessary procedures. We will definitely keep taking her there .
