Frequent staff turnover creates an inconsistent experience. The doctor’s attitude can vary significantly and may come across as rude depending on the day. Additionally, poor quality control leads to appliances breaking frequently, with patients often being unfairly blamed. The turnover results in poorly trained employees who barely know what they are doing. I cannot recommend this practice for orthodontic treatment. Just the doctor’s attitude towards patients and employees alone should be enough to turn off most patients and most likely is the reason for the high personnel turnover.

Very welcoming environment! The three and a half years of my braces journey were amazing, no problems at all. My retainers are sturdy and over all great. Would definitely recommended!

I went here for years my treatment plan was very long. I had very crooked teeth.. I was going regularly until I started feeling embarrassed and nervous to go in after his attitude with me. You wait forever not only that half the time no one knows what they're doing to you. Not only was he scary towards me he is to his staff. Mean mean mean would grind the heck out of me then not even say sorry. Get mad when he had to take off my brackets for a dental cleaning. Not gental, not happy, not careful, not sympathetic. I was scared to write anything or say anything till now. Now that I am being taken care of by a new orthodontist. It took me years to find the courage to come and be seen. I know how I supposed to be treated as a patient now. So after thousands of hard earned money I paid to be treated scummy, I'm here to do it all over again but now the RIGHT way. Please no one be scared to write the truth, more people should come out and speak there mind. It will help others, hopefully.

My daughter’s treatment was delayed for 4 months due to issues with insurance. I understand that this is none of your concern (which you explicitly told me several times) that the payment goes to the wrong address and it’s taking a long time for insurance company to resolve, but you had to let me know that you are delaying her treatment due to that so that I can take care of it with the credit card and let her get the care she needs to to get.

My son received treatment from Dr. Hardyk to correct his underbite. No problem with his treatment , his bite was corrected in less than a year and he went into wearing a retainer right after. We had to have his retainer replaced after it was damaged and in the time it took for the retainer replacement he developed a gap in between his two front teeth. Dr. Hardyk suggested a Hawley retainer that could be manipulated in hopes that it would close the gap . In the three weeks of my son wearing the new retainer, his space closed, but the retainer caused his lateral incisor (tooth next to his front tooth), to shift. I took him in to have Dr. Hardyk examine his tooth and the appliance and make the necessary adjustments.

I politely explained to Dr. Hardyk the reason for our visit and he immediately became defensive. The first words out of his mouth were, “I was trying to save you money by offering an alternative to a second round of treatment, I didn’t think you would be over critical of the results. If you’re looking for perfection your son will need to get braces again.” He stated he could not adjust the retainer any further.

I explained to Dr. Hardyk that I never asked for him to save me money and if there was a possibility that the retainer would cause movement to other teeth, as the professional that should have been disclosed to me beforehand and that the reason for our visit was my concern for his now protruding tooth. He would not answer my question of if my son should be fitted for a new retainer to hold his space since the gap was closed or if he should discontinue the use of the existing retainer. Instead, he had a complete tantrum in the middle of his treatment room.

In the almost two years my son has been going to Oakley Orthodontics I have observed Dr. Hardyk’s rude and condescending behavior to other patients and especially to his staff, which would explain the high turnover rate.

I would not recommend Oakley Orthodontics to anyone.

I didn’t have a babysitter for my almost 2 years old so I had to bring her along for my consultation and was prepared for a difficult time keeping her occupied. That wasn’t the case at all though, Joanna kept my daughter entertained and showed her SO MUCH love while not only doing my xrays but while Dr. Hardyk spoke with me about my next steps. Highly recommend!!!

I spent over 21K the last 3 years an it seems every time a product they used didn’t hold up they would want me to pay 200$ for tops or bottoms. Mind you the retainers were so thin they would last 2 weeks before they would crack. This very very disappointing when you have been a loyal customer and send them people. I feel they need to do some adjusting to the products or use the stronger ones off top. The lady’s at the desk are super rude and not very helpful at all as well. I would never recommend them again.
