For example, when I was getting impressions for my upper teeth, it was very helpful to have Mary beside me. I am very nervous about the gooey stuff overflowing and running to the back of my throat. I had a prior experience when this happened a long time ago and it got so uncomfortable that I couldn’t breathe normally, and I started choking; it was awful. Mary’s calming nature and bedside manners helped me through it. Getting these impressions right was an essential part of the process.

Dr. Chen was super nice and honest; he didn't try to sell or add unnecessary things how other dentists I've been to in the past have. I really loved how he cleaned my teeth it wasn't painful and fast. Definitely recommend checking him out if you are in need of a new dentist like I was.

I love Ocean Smiles: the front staff is kind and professional, the clinic is clean and punctual, and both my dentist (Steven Chen) and his assistant are amazing—they are patient and gentle with their tools (they even had glasses I could wear to shield my eyes from the overhead lamp—never had that before!) and are mindful of my comfort level during the procedure.

Dr. Chen has been amazing with me since taking over my old dentist office years ago. He knows I have a fear of dentist but he works with me on that and is gentle. He reminds me to floss which I have a bad habit of forgetting haha. I also drive a bit of a ways to come here but again, I’ve been seeing him for years and he knows my mouth and my fears, so I would never dream of switching. His staff are friendly and they know me and I always feel welcome. Def come to Dr. Chen for regular cleaning but also for any bigger work. He did my root canal a few years ago and was able to see me on an emergent basis.
