I honestly can't thank Dr Abar enough for what he's done for my son. We started treatment not knowing whether some of his adult teeth could be saved because of all the crowding. As of today, my son is getting his braces off, all adult teeth intact, perfectly aligned, and we couldn't be happier!

To be honest, I’d be giving one star, but some of his staff have been so amazing over the years that I have to give two.

I have history at this place. Back in 2013 to 2015, I did braces here. And most recently, from 2022 to 2024, I did Invisalign.

I don’t have much to say about my braces treatment, other than I think I might have done an unnecessary procedure with a laser on the inside of my lip (honestly, I feel like Abar does it to get extra money out of people because I’m not sure what the benefit of it was to this day). Service was good. Didn’t have a problem with anything I attribute to out of the ordinary.

Things changed for the worse this second time around. From the jump, I got the sense something was off in the consultation. Abar is interesting in the sense you really get the feeling he does not care about you at all, just your coins. He’s really rude and does not greet customers as they enter. He just walks right past them. It creates an ugly atmosphere in the office because it’s all just business. Coming from a legal background, I can respect business-oriented mindsets, but when the treatment and care of the people you’re serving is left completely to the side, it’s a problem. This is very different from Dr. Gold, who used to be here before Abar and genuinely cared about the success of his patients.

I think my biggest problem with this business is its lack of financial transparency. When you get your estimate and set up your payment plan during your consultation, you think you have a sense of how much you’ll be paying and when. Wrong. Abar is infamous for tacking on hidden fees for miscellaneous X-rays or treatments that were not even discussed at the onset of treatment. He’ll also try and make you speed up your payment plan if you finish treatment early (not at all on you as the patient), completely disregarding the payment plan agreed upon when you first retained services. You need to be extremely firm in advocating for yourself if you want to get treatment here, or else you’ll get played.

Second on the list is professional treatment. There’s times Abar grabs away the people helping you during your appointment to go do something random, or he’s reprimanding an employee for some random reason in front of everyone. It’s ugly to witness. I, as a customer, have also had to have heated exchanges with him at times for how he yanked my neck or grabbed me with his hands to try and force my mouth into some position when he could simply communicate by opening his mouth. His professional and interpersonal treatment is awful.

Overall, a hot mess. I’m very disappointed with this business as time has progressed. I came back because my first experience with braces was good. I thought Invisalign would be similar, but I was wrong. After speaking with friends who also did Invisalign treatments, Abar charged double the price and had the treatment on 4-5x as long (probably to get the most money possible).
Do NOT come here. You’re better off going to another dentist/ortho that is respectful and genuinely cares about your well-being as a patient.

Will never step foot in here again.

I'm completely satisfied & unbelievable of my orthodontic treatment results with Abar Orthodontics. Now I have this straight teeth and beautiful smile, its the best place to get your braces, I was so happy with the results. Dr. Abar is nice, thoughtful, & knowledgeable orthodontist. He is "one of a kind". My teeth used to be crooked & for more than 2 years of my brace journey it was finally taken off this month and now I'm wearing a retainer to keep my teeth in place. Although my treatment is not over yet, I'm very grateful to Dr. Abar, Dr. Wen for everything and to all his teams who are amazing. All the staffs are friendly and welcoming, I appreciated Nubia for always making my appointment fast and convenient to me. I would highly recommend Dr. Abar to anyone looking for a great orthodontist. I'm so glad to be one of Dr. Abar adult patient for achieving my beautiful straight smile.

After 6 years, my daughter is getting her braces off! Her jaw was not aligned properly, so the treatment was longer than normal. 6 years of treatment is not cheap. My daughter's teeth took longer to fix than expected due to unpredictable delays in baby teeth falling out and other issues. We ended up paying some extra money for the extended treatment. We went past the predicted time on the initial contract. This is why we had to pay extended treatment fees. Dr. Abar worked with us on costs and monthly payments. The office staff is wonderful, all very professional and polite. My daughter's smile is beautiful, and seeing her confidence makes this worth it.

When my daughter lost her baby teeth earlier than usual, he provided expert advise & treatment over the past 4 years and helped her keep a smile that will last a lifetime. Many THANKS to him and his associate doctor/staff for their amazing work. Highly recommend his office to anyone who needs Ortho treatment !!!

Great customer service and care from providers, dental assistants, and front desk. I believe Dr. Abar and his partner are technically skilled. His office is quick to respond and get me seen if ever an issue with wire poking into my gums or bracket falling off. However, I am giving 3 stars because I was told insurance would cover a significant portion for my braces and therefore agreed to get my braces put on the same day. But Dr. Abar told me a week later - sorry the insurance actually doesn’t cover it so I have to charge you the 8K full price which is very very expensive. I highly recommend anyone considering braces with Dr. Abar to get multiple quotes from various practices first and verify in writing if your dental insurance covers any portion of your braces before committing. Otherwise you will feel very disappointed and cheated.

We thought that this would be a great place for my sister to get her braces, but after looking at all the reviews and coming in a couple times we realized it isn’t. The treatment that they do is super expensive and you have to schedule appointments for everything. If you want the wire cut you need an appointment. If something else is bothering you also need an appointment. The bad thing is that they had told us that we could come in anytime for any inconvenience. Everyone do your research and do not come here!
