It's my first time ever going to the dentist on my own, so you can imagine how anxious I was. I signed up for the new patient special which was $59 for a cleaning, x-ray, and exam. I was skeptical because I thought there was an additional cost, but nope it's straight up $59. That's an AMAZING deal! The exam and x-ray was straight to the point and explained thoroughly, and if I had any questions they made sure to break it down for me. I really wanna thank everyone that helped me feel calm today and helped with my teeth! I left pretty happy with clean teeth. 🙂

I highly recommend Alameda Dental Care! Brandi and Kanesha are always friendly when I check in at the front desk. Leslie and Marion are so easy to talk to and even remember information I shared with them during previous appointments. Dr. Eva is very knowledgable and gives me tons of suggestions/insight. Alameda is very prompt (I never wait to be taken back more than 5 minutes) and organized. Weirdly enough, I actually enjoy going to the dentist now?

I came here for a cleaning and prior to my pre-cleaning check up, I made it clear my insurance fully covered basic preventative care and I didn’t want any work done that does not fall into that category. They said a regular cleaning would be covered and they would call my insurance to confirm benefits. I called day of my appointment to check if they called the insurance, they told me they did call and confirmed my appointment was fully covered. After the check up I was told if my mouth bled a lot during the cleaning it would be considered a different type of cleaning that was not fully covered by my insurance. I wasn’t comfortable with that being decided after the fact so I canceled the cleaning appointment, but wasn’t upset at this point. Few weeks later I get a bill for x-rays my insurance didn’t cover. The dental office took x-rays called periapical that were not necessary, and therefore not included in basic preventative care, without informing me. I called to ask why they did this, they said these were standard x-rays. I asked the next dentist I went to about this and was told those x-rays are for when there is a concern with specific teeth. Still, even if these were standard, I was explicitly told the office checked with my insurance to make sure everything was covered. The office told me my insurance never sent them the full benefits so they had no way of knowing. Why was I told they confirmed my coverage if my insurance didn’t provide full info? I don’t know. I’m not sure if this situation was due to ill-intent or not but either way, I would avoid them.

My dental hygienist, Marion, was very pleasant and made me feel at ease throughout my cleaning. Her attention to detail and gentle touch left my teeth feeling incredibly clean!
