Alaska Premier Health refused to treat me. They said my beliefs about weight loss weren’t consistent with what they offer. They didn’t like intermittent fasting (which I said has provided some success) and what I said was the high amount of exercise that I need to do in order to lose and maintain weight. The doctor also used the word “ballooned” in regards to my weight. I specifically asked for a female provider and they scheduled me with a male (and a complete jerk).

The amount of nutritional Slim-Fastesque products in the office made me uncomfortable. It seems they’re running a sort of MLM on the side, and their weight loss model revolves around extreme calorie restriction (and the profit they make off that) If that’s what you’re looking for, they’re likely a good fit for you.

I ended up being successful without them—it turned out there was an actual medical reason behind my struggles, but Alaska Premier Health wasn’t willing to talk with me about what else might be going on when I didn’t fit their 15 minute narrative. So if you’re going to see them, make sure you’ve exhausted other medical possibilities first. They have one mode of thinking, and if you don’t fit, they aren’t interested.

I schedule with Alaska Premier Health because I wanted a medically trained person to supervise with my weight loss. There's too many info on the internet and it can be overwhelming .

I've been seeing Sally Coburn for 6 weeks for my weight loss journey . She is understanding, celebrates the little and big wins and really listens . She also puts things in perspective that makes the weight loss journey easier . She reminds you that this is a life long healthy behaviors you are making . The staff is friendly and scheduling is easy . Would recommend anyone who needs help with their weight loss journey

Within first meeting my physician, I felt more confident about the tools I was being given to take the next step and start seeing results. Its hard work and commitment, but I feel heard and well taken care of by all the staff whenever I go in for any appointment.
