My dentist retired, my wife suggested I try American River Dental. Just had my second cleaning. I am probably not the easiest patient- hyper sensitive gum line. I am listened to and handled so professionally. Dental hygienist is so down to earth and skilled. Cleaning done in about an hour with no discomforts or issues. So attentive, gentle, and effective. Wonderful experience, 58 years and I have never said that about a dentist office.
About an hour drive from home, easily worth the drive. They are stuck with me, I am not looking elsewhere.

My mom has been coming here for years. And she has always shared her experiences each appointment. They were kind enough to call me when my mom was not able to safely drive herself. From the way the treated my mother it made me choose to come here. Everyone was very kind. The atmosphere was free. Everyone belonged there. The way the staff works together as a solid unit. If they were having a bad day you wouldn’t be able to tell. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

1st Review but 30yr customer with family:
-- Easy to find on busy corner in established Rancho Cordova neighborhood.
-- Small 8-car parking lot is tight, but more available around other side of 2-story building in same parking lot. Either way, be prepared to walk. That said, they do have a back loading-door for more mobility impaired (coordinate with front office staff).
-- Inviting, open, naturally lit building with comfortable waiting room comforted by a large, wall aquarium.
-- Kind, capable, stable staff (office, hygienists, techs, & doctors).
-- Gentle-handed, manual hygenist vs. loud, electric device cleanings.
>> Bottom Line: Highly recommend.

I was very happy with care I was given today. I was about 30 minutes early, they got me right in and I was seen right away with nothing but smiles. I am so glad I was referred here for my major dental issues.
I can’t remember the ex ray techs name she was AWSOME and took tons of ex rays and pictures so my care plan could move forward as quick as possible. I am also wheelchair bound and they easily accommodated me.

called with a broken tooth. got an appointment in weeks time. Then was called back and told that this dentist doesn't do sedation. I knew that fact. I needed to be seen to insure I didn't have an infection. Amber and Nicole who are office staff hung up on me. Very unprofessional. I'll take any money elsewhere.

Love this family friendly, personal longstanding fixture in the community, where you are an individual, not a number. With their help, and because they are so nice to deal with, I still have a great smile. The staff are very kind, patient, comfy, seating area with huge relaxing fish tank, feels like you are stopping through for a visit, not a dental procedure. Hygienist is excellent, thorough and always on time. Appreciate their excellent service and dedication and grateful they are surviving these times of mass assembly line multicenter indifferent corporate entities that only push expensive procedures at you.

My family and I have been going to this dentist for years to see Dr. Holm and Acheson. Ever since American River Dental was acquired by Dr. Soltani, the practice has gone downhill! They fail at good communication informing their patients appropriately pertaining to procedures and payment plans. My father was denied moving forward with his scheduled appointment unless he was to pay the full balance and 1/3 of total cost for current visit and was given 1 hour notice. My mother has had a payment plan for years and was never forced to suddenly pay a balance day of in order to see her dentist on a scheduled day/time for an important matter. Now all of a sudden, under Dr. Soltani's management and lack of customer service, payment plans are not offered past a 3 month period. We will ALL be looking for a new dentist and highly suggest others do as well! I have seen the comparison in business ethics from back when Dr. Acheson led the practice, and I'm not at all impressed. Disappointing experience! I also see that we are not the only ones that feel this way about the practice since the transition 🙁 Sad how new ownership can completely ruin a business! Love Cheri (hygienist) but nothing else about this place!
