Dr. Baumgartner is not only a first-class, experienced, Ft. Bragg dentist, he's also a generous great guy. I refer both to his cheerful, highly informed "bedside" manner and his flexibility about what he charges. He has been my go-to dentist on all too many serious issues for upwards of ten years.I have had various crowns (especially well done since his brother actually fashions them), fillings and a root canal -- all of which turned out well.

Finally, his predictions about what to worry about (or not) are nuts on -- especially useful days before you leave the area and/or go on vacation. His staff, especially Cindy, is equally first-rate. How often do you find it a pleasure to visit your dentist? I do! Robert B, Mendocino

If you are someone who wants to pay this man for work you will need to do once he is finished; then he's the guy for you.
As a former model growing up in the fashion industry I have always been conscious of my appearance. Teeth are an indicator of many things and their condition leaves an impression difficult to overcome; that is if they look like mine do right now thanks to Dr. Baumgarten.
My Father had just passed away and I had just moved here from Healdsburg for much needed support. To make things worse the veneer fell off one of my two front teeth leaving an unbearable reflection in the mirror as well as to those who saw it.
These are the conditions under which I came to meet Kenneth Baumgarten. He said to me "If you want it fixed it will cost you $1,050 cash up front".
Approximately 11 Months ago Dr. Baumgarten preformed the "repair" work. This tooth always felt different from the original and different from my other tooth still intact and has been for seven years.
Dr. Baumgarten's tooth came out yesterday. 11 Months ago; I suppose I paid a $100.00's a month to rent a defective veneer plus $50.00 for the hell of it.
I grow vegetables for my Vitamix. I do not eat hard foods or bite into things for example, an apple I cut. Ribs, candy etc. I avoid. I am very particular in caring for my teeth even more so since the first incident requiring repair. I use a sonicare and floss twice daily. I do not know many people here. These days my five dogs and the beach are what we live for. In spite of this I have already met several people who have had a similar experience with Dr. Baumgarten. The common link we all share is to go elsewhere to repair work he did and to add insult to injury we all have to pay all over again. There is no guarantee with him. My work was done and paid for in his office; yet he refuses to see me in his office and I was rudely dismissed (nothing new) by his receptionist Cindy. She said call the clinic and schedule him there!
Today I called the Coast Dental clinic asking if they could please help me. I was told I could come in at 3:30. Today! They are amazing. My first visit was with Dr. Heaton about six weeks ago. I have been to many good dentists since I was old enough; yet in all those years I have never experiencedsuch a totally thorough examination. I still talk about him when I go there and the girl just smiles and says "yes he is thorough". Today I was seen by Dr. Shaw who had my tooth repaired for $25.00. I am free to smile and it didn't take a month just a little little while. Can you believe it? $25.00 for an excellent job. Thank you Dr. Shaw and Coast Clinic.
I rarely take my time and energy for such an elaborate complaint. My time on line is all about animals and the environment; this experience however I felt compelled to share. The one feature that most expresses joy to another is your smile. Today I am smiling again!
