After mourning the past 17 days I realize that I am just angry. My mother passed away on June 11th ALONE.... She went into the hospital very sick, ALONE... She had to be intubated so she couldn't talk, or call us. But!!!! This hospital has her POA and both of my brothers are listed. NO ONE was called, three days, and then she died, still no one on her POA was called. I personally had to call the coroner after my brother was messaged by one of her friends to give condolences. WTH!!!! The coroner said she went in on Sunday, died Wednesday night. So I am angry, sad, and pissed 😡. My mother died alone, no hand to hold, no prayers, none of her children, ALONE...... You should be ashamed

Actually insane the way my wife was treated so poorly by this place. She hadn’t been able to keep anything down from nausea and a sore throat. She also wasn’t able to use the bathroom due to how dehydrated she was. She was given water to sip on and a zofran. She wasn’t given an IV drip of fluids, why? Possibly because the benefits coordinator asked “so are you still self pay for this?” - which we weren’t. They hadn’t updated our insurance information. THEN doctor comes in and says “well you probably have the flu” without even LOOKING at my wife’s throat. She then asked if he would please look at her throat. He then proceeded to say “oh wow that looks awful, I wouldn’t be surprised if your strep test came back positive.”
So first it’s just the flu because you don’t even examine your patient, then after we ask you to do your job, you determine that it looks like strep - to which we obviously had an inkling of that. It gets even better. He then proceeds to say “well good thing is that you don’t need antibiotics for strep anymore”. WHAT We requested antibiotics because are you kidding me Why would you want your patient to suffer longer Completely unprofessional. I’m just glad they didn’t chalk it up to anxiety this time. Take your loved ones elsewhere even if it’s 100 miles away. I promise they will get better care elsewhere.

I wish I could give negative stars. This place is a joke and the level of incompetence runs deep and through multiple departments. My husband has been stuck in Blessing for almost a week while we have been "waiting for test results". He is completely miserable and getting horrible care. The expression "too many chefs in the kitchen" perfectly details how this place is run. A lot of doctors and nurses, but no information or incorrect information as the doctors don't seem to check his chart or talk with each other. If you are the loved one of someone in this hospital - be forewarned - you are going to be FORCED through the rollercoaster of your life - not only because your loved one is sick but because the staff associated with this hospital is incredibly underwhelming. All I can hope and pray for at this point is that this hospital doesn't kill him with their negligence.

All the money and legal protection won't shield upon a negligent Doctor. Recently a heart surgeon at this hospital performed a TAVR surgery on my helpless Aunt and not through her chest cavity, she was cut along the way and died from an infection after being left open 17 hours at Blessing Hospital Quincy Il. She never woke up from that. She was then transferred to Barnes where she was kept only comfortable enough to die slowly about a month later. I can't even try to begin & think or ask why, but God knows who you are and what happened that day.

Great experience with all my Dr's and nurses. Total bill over a million dollars , I spent with them. The worst experience was with billing. Very rude , talk over you, she wanted to hear nothing you was saying or wanting to say. Explained i will take business elsewhere, her response. OK If you spent money with me I would be letting you know , that I'm sorry to hear that, and wish there was something that we could do. Of course she only gets hourly pay so she cares less if you spend your money there or not. I personally will not be back.

Our experience with this hospital has been above expectations. My husband was admitted for cardiac observation and his Nurse Tyler Plant was beyond amazing!! His care and understanding and ability to get things done was our Christmas miracle!! We would highly recommend the vascular department at this hospital!!

Out of greed, blessing hospital, no longer accepts Medicare advantage plans. So sad. It is the most economical insurance for retired people. But they are the only hospital in the area that is refusing to accept it. They must not be getting paid enough money.

Took our daughter to the ER yesterday after being sent from her pediatrician to try for iv fluids, they told us our 18 month old only had a virus (granted they did not testing on her or anything) and was not dehydrated like her pediatrician had said and they sent us on our way without the fluids. So we took her to Hannibal Regional. We told them the experience we had at Blessing. Hannibal staff got us right in and with all the testing we found out she had pneumonia and a few other things going on. Very disappointed with the care we received. I felt very invalidated as her mother trying to get her help as she was so dehydrated she was just hanging on us not doing much of anything.
