As an adult needing braces for the second time, I was understandably apprehensive. After having braces in my teens, developing a severe open bite was disheartening, and I was determined to correct it without surgery. From my very first consultation with Culver City Orthodontics, I knew I was in capable hands.

They were honest and realistic about my chances of completely closing the gap without surgery. They explained that my open bite was among the most severe they had ever encountered and that while they could work to improve it, a complete closure might not be possible. I appreciated their candor and accepted the terms, feeling reassured by their confidence and expertise.

Without hesitation, they began my treatment plan. They referred me to a surgeon for the removal of my wisdom teeth and the installation of Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) and started me on traditional braces. Their thorough and dedicated approach was evident every step of the way.

After a few years of their unwavering support and hard work, I am overjoyed to share that my open bite is completely closed—no surgery required. Culver City Ortho has orthodontics down to an art form. The doctors and staff are all welcoming, and most importantly, kind. The procedures and technology is all state-of-the-art. My daughter’s ortho experience was straightforward and took place exactly in the 2-yr span that was indicated in the ortho plan. For my son, Dr. Borenstein counseled in favor of expanders as opposed to “multiple extractions.” What a relief!

Dr. Borenstein and Dr. Fell are the kindest people we have met in a long time. We were visiting from Tampa, FL when our daughter started feeling a poke from her wire. She has had that before and it gets pretty rough on her cheeks. So, I called after hours and left a message requesting an appointment even though we are not existing patients. Dr. Borenstein called back almost immediately and not only gave us an appointment for the next day, but she also guided us on how to put wax in a manner that she could spend the night without pain.

Next morning, Dr. Fell attended to my daughter and ensured that she was really taken care of. Their kindness and attention to detail was so phenomenal. It not only made my daughter free from pain, but also gave us evidence that no matter how busy the world gets, there are always people who take time to remain human!
