Office refuses to accept any new patients. I had a referral (which is now void thanks to the negligence of the office) and have filled out paperwork in person to help speed up the process. That was all about 6 months ago. If mental health services are your specialty, waiting anywhere over a week is a slap in the face to anyone desperately seeking help. I have left many, many messages to no avail. The office simply denies any help or assistance and they are okay with whatever the repercussions may be for the patient. They simply do not care.
UPDATE: Eight months after going the office in person and filling out all paperwork, I was then told that I would only be allowed "appointments" over the phone. After four months of these appointments, I can very easily say I will never be answering another phone call from this location again for the sake of my mental health. Each and every phone call I was made to feel as if I were a pest, as Dr. Del Rosario clearly would rush through the calls as fast as possible, often times forgetting important pieces of information I had told to him within the minute. Since Del Rosario will not actually attempt to hear your side or listen to one's struggles, I found myself essentially prescribing medication on my own accord based on guesses. Experimenting with dosages and medications with no patient feedback taken into consideration made me feel that I had no worth. As someone in desperate need of help, I felt more hopeless and defeated after "speaking" to Del Rosario than I was before. Medications are guessed and prescribed to patients upon a whim and the patient is powerless to express the genuine issues that have led them to a psychiatrist in the first place. I am beyond shocked that this office still operates in the Antelope Valley. I do not believe I could have ever made progress with the negligence and clear lack of empathy from Del Rosario. People who are at absolute rock bottom will not be helped in the slightest by this office. If anything, the "doctors" here should be avoided at all costs. The staff are nice though. That's it.

Donā€™t listen to the good reviews on here. Itā€™s not just about the horrible office staff . Iā€™ve been seeing this doctor for four almost five years now, and at every single appointment I have to fight with her to listen and believe what Iā€™m saying. Itā€™s so invalidating and frustrating. It sounds like she doesnā€™t even want to be a psychiatrist, and will not show you compassion when you open up to her. Itā€™s hard enough to get mental health help, let alone dealing with doctors like this who donā€™t listen to the patient when they say something is wrong. Donā€™t go here.

Horrible. Just horrible. I donā€™t ever leave reviews, but I donā€™t want anyone else to think this is a good place to go to. First of all itā€™s so hard to get appointments, the front office never answers and I have only had bad experiences with the people who work up there. Theyā€™re rude and dismissive and they always call late when you do have appointments. The psychiatrist rarely believes what youā€™re saying is true, and is extremely dismissive, saying itā€™s all in your head and that you donā€™t need help for it. Iā€™ve been seeing her for many years now and nothing has changed. Trust me, donā€™t go here, you will get told nothing is wrong with you and sent away with a pat on the back.

I never leave reviews. Ever. But this is the final straw. I donā€™t have anything negative to say about Dr. Del Risario. Heā€™s a great guy and heā€™s always nice and professional. As for his staff, specifically the people who answer the phones, they are literally the worst. They rarely answer the phone and to get them to do anything is like pulling teeth. I can never count on them to do things like send a new prescription to my pharmacy I use. I always have to call more than once after my appointments to get them to do what they should have done on their own. Because theyā€™re a DOCTORS OFFICE. Anyway thatā€™s my ramble. I wouldnā€™t suggest them unless Dr. Roy gets a new staff

Dr. Rosario literally saved my life. I am a military spouse and when we moved to the AV 3 years ago, I struggled to find a good doctor. The first one spent less than 10 min with me and stared at his computer the entire time. I donā€™t think he even looked at my face once. He sent me off with a new medication and said I was depressed. I felt sicker than I ever had in my life. My body was deteriorating. It caused my anxiety to skyrocket. I didnā€™t feel like he listened to me at all. I searched out a new doctor and Dr. Marites came highly recommended by the military community. She had a wait list but I was willing to wait. A few months later I got a call that there was an opening. The very first day we met, she stared at me and immediately knew something was wrong with me. Not just mentally but physically. She had a hunch that it could be related to my thyroid and sent me to get labs. Sure enough, she was right. My labs numbers were off the charts. I was diagnosed with hyper thyroid and Gravesā€™ disease. I had went from 150 pounds to 105. Even my primary care doctor didnā€™t suspect health issues and told me to seek a psychiatrist for anxiety. Dr. Marites mentioned that my eyes appeared to bulge. She was also right about that. I was sent to an endo at UCLA who told me that I was lucky that she spotted it early. That was the beginning sign of TEDS disease where your eyes bulge and only surgery can fix it. Because it was caught early, I did not require surgery. All of these untreated health issues were making me extremely ill and making my anxiety worse. Because she took the time to not just HEAR me but SEE me, she was able to set me on the path to proper treatment. My thyroid is now under control and I continue to see her to help with my regular anxiety and ADD. Sheā€™s helped me overcome so many fears that I donā€™t think I could have done without her help. Even going to the dentist which I have avoided for years. For me, she hasnā€™t just treated my mental health. She has helped improve my overall general health and thatā€™s helped me be a better mother and wife. She is brilliant and she genuinely cares about her patients. If youā€™re looking for a Doctor who knows their stuff and will actually listen to you and provide useful feedback, then do not hesitate to give her a call. I noticed they have different numbers for messages and one to reach the actual desk. Once you become a patient it is really easy to figure out and I reach them anytime I need to. The office staff is kind and helpful as well. The AV has a gem in Dr. Rosario!

Dr. Marites "Tess" del Rosario is a very good and kind doctor. I have been with her for two years now, and she has helped me through A LOT. She always knows what to do, and she even listens to my personal feedback. She's there when I need her and she is very patient. P.S. The phone system is whacky if you're a new patient, but it's smooth sailing once you figure it out. If you have a problem and you can't reach them...just head to the office. They'll be more than happy to accommodate you.

For literally over a year now, I have tried to get an appointment with these people. My insurance doesn't require a referral for mental health, but the offices here keep telling me that they need authorization from the insurance. I've gone back and forth with the insurance and the doctors office here. Whatever their policy is, they require a referral even though you don't need a referral. I got the run-around, and told several times that they would figure it out for me. Still waiting. So I went to the mental health urgent care, and within 2 hours of my arrival there, I saw a psychiatrist, a therapist and got diagnosed and prescribed medicine. And it literally cost nothing. I. Currently in the process of changing my insurance to Kaiser, so I can find a doctor who will actually help me. I've heard nothing but great reviews and word of mouth about these doctors, but their policies has made it impossible to get the help I need.

I went there for the first time and filled out the papers and handed them in. The receptionist said that they would call me to make me an appointment as soon as they had an opening. That was 2 months ago and I still haven't heard from them. The office staff sucks big time. I have read in the opinions of patients that the Drs. are great so I think that they need to get rid of all of their present office staff and hire people who are more professional and do their job right.
