If you value your dental health and peace of mind, I strongly advise against seeing Dr. Kostas. What was supposed to be a simple veneer placement on my front tooth (#9) turned into a nightmare: I ended up with a potentially life-threatening tooth infection, an emergency root canal, ongoing infection, potential future surgery, and lasting psychological distress.

While Dr. Kostas may claim that my root canal was due to childhood trauma to the tooth, I find that explanation unconvincing. Regardless of the cause, whatā€™s undeniable is how he handled my concernsā€”or rather, how he failed to handle them for several MONTHS. I raised concerns three separate times about swelling, bleeding, and lack of healing:

(1) During the procedure: I was told I wasnā€™t brushing my temporary veneer enough.
(2) At a follow-up: I was assured everything was ā€œnormal.ā€
(3) At my 6-month cleaning: He dismissed my concerns, saying he didnā€™t see any swelling.

Not even a week after that cleaning, I woke up in excruciating pain. When I returned to his office, Dr. Kostas insisted the infected tooth wasnā€™t the one he had worked onā€”despite clear evidence to the contrary. An endodontist confirmed it was indeed tooth #9, which was severely infected and required a root canal. Unfortunately, the infection has been so persistent that I'm still under observation more than a year later.

When I sought a second opinion, another dentist was shocked by my situation and even offered to write an email to Dr. Kostas requesting a refund on my behalf. Dr. Kostas refused, stating that he doesnā€™t refund ā€œcompleted work,ā€ but offered to ā€œfix itā€ for free. Given my experience, thereā€™s no chance I would trust him again. Even when I requested a partial refund, I was denied.

There were red flags from the beginning:

(1) Misinformation about the timeline for my temporary and final veneers, which took weeks longer than promised.
(2) Inconsistent explanations about the veneerā€™s length, with shifting reassurances that were never fulfilled.
(3) Dismissive attitude toward post-procedure complications and a complete lack of accountability when things went wrong.

Dr. Kostas may have taken over a reputable practice, but my experience reflects poor judgment, lack of integrity, and substandard care. Iā€™m sharing my story in hopes of sparing someone else from the physical, emotional, and financial toll Iā€™ve endured. Please look beyond the glowing reviewsā€”because when things donā€™t go perfectly, you might find yourself in the same position I did: ignored, blamed, and left to deal with the consequences alone.

I'd also like to clarify that the attached photos are both AFTER the second dentist shortened the veneer.

Dr. K gave me the beautiful smile I've always dreamed of. He's a very skilled dentist and I highly recommend him for the veneer work he did for me.

Over a 2 year period I had major dental reconstruction which included bone grafts, implants, crowns etc. Even though some of this was not successful, I rated Dr Kostas and his team 4 star..
Dr K is an expert in his field, very caring and persistent trying to get good results. My body didn't always cooperate and sometimes his idea didnā€™t work. At this point a final result is still unresolved.
Do not prepay which I regret doing .

Take a deep breath before you read my review!
I went to Dr. Kostas at the suggestion of my dentist after my jaw prosthetic (aka an "implant supported denture") cracked and broke in November. I have a jaw prosthetic for teeth #4-#8, status post a jaw and cheek bone resection in 2013 for a neoplasm of uncertain behavior (two different pathologists were unable to determine if it was benign or malignant, therefore it was treated as if it would act malignant).
Dr. Kostas said that he would be able to remake the prosthetic and I was very anxious to get started. The broken prosthetic could not be fixed due to the extent and location of the damage. It was affecting my bite and it was expected to keep cracking, therefore we got started right away. I appreciated that we were able to jump right in. I asked if the re-make could be expedited since I would have to be without my prosthetic, basically 25% of my mouth, and could not eat or speak properly. I felt that if any case could ever be "rushed", it would be this one. Dr. K. agreed to request this from the lab. I got a call a week in and was told that it would be another 3 weeks. I was very upset and asked if it could please be any faster as I had very poor function without it. They were able to get it back the following week for me.
When I went in to the office to get the piece seated, I was cautiously optimistic. I understand that this is a man made piece being put into a natural structure. I also understand that my case is not an easy or straight forward one.
The new prosthetic fit very well, was very comfortable, and functioned like a dream. However, the prosthetic teeth were larger and more square than my natural teeth. I was mostly bothered by the look of prosthetic teeth #7 & #8 (the front right tooth and the tooth to the right of it). It wasn't a big deal if the other 3 prosthetic teeth were slightly larger as they are molars and not very visible with my smile. It is worth mentioning that my friends and family were able to see what I was talking about, however they did not feel like the difference was big enough that someone who didn't know what I have gone through would notice. When you have been through this kind of trauma with your jaw/face as a young woman, every detail matters.
I let Dr. K. know my concerns and we went over some options. Because the piece fit and functioned so well, I did not want to take it out again. Instead I decided that I wanted to put a veneer on my natural tooth #10 as this tooth needs a composite build up and has to be redone every 3 years or so anyway (with the veneer I should not have to deal with this again for many years to come). Dr. K helped me to make this happen and now the tooth is a much better match to the opposite prosthetic tooth. We also did a Zoom whitening treatment in his office which made my teeth look flawlessly white and made all of the teeth, prosthetic and natural, really flow together. Side note- Zoom is the ONLY way to go for teeth whitening. I have done just about all of them and nothing compares to the Zoom.
3 months after breaking my original piece, I am finally done and have retainers and night guards to fit all of the new bits & pieces. I am happy with the results, my teeth actually look better than they ever have (pic attached, it is a selfie so it is opposite/mirror reflection). I did get a superficial chip in prosthetic tooth #6, but Dr. K was able to repair it. The prosthetic tooth may have been just a hair too long because it broke while I was chewing and it hit the bottom tooth. Again, it is a man made piece in a natural structure. If the small chip causes any problems in the future we will visit options from there.
As patients, it is our responsibility to communicate our needs and concerns with the provider and be advocates for ourselves.
I feel that Dr. K. wants his patients to be happy with their results and will work with you while you navigate your journey.

Thanks to all who were involved in my care with this!

Dr. Kostas and his team deserve a lot more than 5 Stars! I have struggled for most of my life with complicated dental issues. He and his assistant addressed every challenge with patience, the highest level of skill, and sincere compassion. The foundation of his treatment plan was to change my bite first, then restore teeth and replace failed dental work. He did it all without compromising cosmetics and exceeded what I thought was possible. Dr. Kostas not only opened my bite without orthodontics for the function I needed, he also improved the cosmetics of my teeth and smile!
When I met Dr. Kostas I had a severe overbite and a mess created by a 5280 dentist who turned out to be incompetent when it comes to complex dental cases like mine. I had learned the hard way that there is a huge difference between cosmetics and aesthetics in dentistry when I had extensive work done by a cosmetic dentist who never addressed functionā€¦ whose negligence resulted in tooth loss and failed crowns, veneers, and restorations within less than 2 years of his work. I was so afraid to trust another dentist that I spent several years researching, asking for recommendations from others and interviewing dentists until I met Dr. Kostas.
After months of restoration and replacement with Dr. Kostas I have function like never before! I wish I had met him 25 years ago. His wealth of knowledge, expertise and additional years of training gave me the confidence to trust him, and I am so grateful! Thank you, Dr. K and staff! You are kind, professional, skilled, trustworthy, and amazing!

For years I was grinding my teeth to the point that the bottom front teeth had worn away so much that other dentists were telling me there was nothing they could do. There was not enough of the teeth left to put crowns on. At Dental Arts, however, Dr. Harogiannis came up with a plan to be able to put crowns on the teeth so I would not have to just have them removed and replaced with a partial or something similar. The procedure was fairly involved, but everything was explained clearly so I knew what to expect every step of the way. There was some pain involved, but I feel like they did everything they could to keep it to a minimum. The Dr. and his assistant were very nice and easy to talk to each time I had to come in for the next part of the procedure, and the desk staff was always super friendly and helpful as well. I now have my new crowns and they look great! I have no pain and my bite feels just like it did before any work was done. I would recommend Dental Arts of Cherry Hills to anyone looking for dental work, they did an excellent job and met or exceeded my expectations in every way!

Dr. Kostas and his entire team have listened to my needs from Day 1 and made sure I am happy with my veneers! I can't say enough about how amazing this team is! Dr. Kostas, his Dental Assistant, and front desk staff have treated me with the utmost respect, caring, and concern throughout the whole process. They have gotten me in immediately for every adjustment I requested and even took care of an emergency dental procedure I needed when I was there for an entirely different reason and made sure I was at ease through the whole procedure. I did A LOT of research before I chose Dr. Kostas and I couldn't be happier with my smile now! Thank you all so much! EP
