Most of my life I had a fear of the dentist. The sound of the drill was unbearable. Upper and lower impressions were torture. Having to take an xray and bite down on a hard piece of cardboard was dreadful. All of these past experiences were erased when I became a patient of Dr Joseph Fields. His beautiful spa like setting was relaxing when I first stepped into the office. The scent of Nest soap, lotion, individually packaged toothbrushes with tooth paste made me feel like I was in a spa. I was greeted by a friendly staff who took the time to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. Dr Fields has the latest equipment with a quiet drill, 3 D state of the art xray machine and experienced staff. Dr Fields can tell if we are nervous and he has a soothing personality that promotes confidence and happiness with in his staff and patients. I’m so glad I was referred to Dr Fields. I love my new smile and beautiful veneers! I drive 3 hours to and from Peninsula Cosmetic Dentistry and it’s worth every mile, pot hole, crazy driver and $4.75 per gal of gas. If your looking for the perfect dental practice this is where you should be! PS. Dr Fields looks like Rip Wheeler from Yellowstone when he has on his Cowboy hat.

Dr. Fields staff are first class & made me feel comfortable and safe. I had elected to be sedated during my dental implant work - and I must say - it couldn't have been a better overall experience. I was a new patient, and found the office clean, comfortable and friendly. The staff was running behind, and what I liked was they acknowledged it, and checked in with me a couple of times. That made all the difference for me. Offered water, gave a tour and were very kind.

It has all the modern technology which gives them the best images and information to assess the situation and make the best recommendation.

They are organized and their staff works together like a melodious orchestra.

I met and saw Dr Field. Right away he makes you feel comfortable and talks with you, not at you. He is friendly, personable and you feel at ease with him.

After the initial assessment is complete you go into a consult room and he walks you through his views, talks about the challenges and then gives a very reasonable approach to solving the problems and providing the desired outcome.

He was straight-forward, he had a great plan and he wasn't trying to upwell. He really wants the best for you. I find that I am intuitive and I felt he was honest, trustworthy and knowledgeable.

After he finished another team member came in to go over the costs for whatever options I chose, if any. I did, went for the full plan and start work in a week. I look forward to excellent results. I have full confidence in Dr. Field and his team.

No Pain, No Pain, No Pain!!!!!! Since writing the review below about the extraction and pure Zirconium (ceramic) implant for tooth 4, I have also had tooth 3 extracted and a pure Zirconium implant placed. Both tooth 3 and tooth 4 are in the upper right hand side of the mouth. I have a bridge (placed by another dentist) on the right lower side of the mouth. The bridge was too high causing extreme pain and also a small fracture between the tooth 3 roots. Dr. Field took great care to be sure the bite on the new tooth 3 implant was just perfect. It has taken about 2 days after Dr. Field placed the tooth 3 Zirconium implant crown, but the constant extreme pain I had been experiencing is gone due to the perfect bite and even pressure. I am so thankful. What a difference.

Dr. Field is one of the very few implant dentists that is capable of using the Zirconium (ceramic) 1 piece implant system rather than a titanium implant. Due to allergies when wearing certain jewelry, I suspected I had metal allergies so I obtained a MELISA metal allergy test available from Open Labs in Mountain View. The MELISA metal allergy test showed that I was strongly allergic to nickel, and weakly allergic to titanium. Most implant systems are made of titanium so I had to find a dentist that uses the Zirconium implant system. Very few dentists use Zirconium because it is more difficult to position correctly. From start to finish, every step of the procedure went flawlessly. Dr. Field extracted tooth 4 (upper right) under very gentle sedation so I was not nauseous and recovered quickly. He also used platelet rich fibrin (PRF) to help the healing. Following the procedure, I was sent home with written care instructions and two small packets of ibuprofen and acetaminophen which are taken only for a short period of time. After the healing and regrowth of bone, Dr. Field only had a space about 4 mm wide (tiny) in which to place the Zirconium implant. He perfectly placed the zirconium implant in this very tiny area. Dr. Field's team, and especially his assistant, Cali, are very professional and pleasant, and I know her instructions and care helped me recover quickly. I followed up with a ceramic cap on tooth 4 and thin prep veneers on teeth 5-11. I have never been to such a highly skilled and professional dentist. Dr. Field is also very friendly and nice.

I had crappy veneers put in by a previous dentist and one cracked in half. The front desk staff was extremely flexible, professional and kind in trying to get me slotted in for a last minute appointment.

From that first call to getting my permanent veneers my experience with Dr. McFarlane was flawless. He really listened to my questions and concerns and and adapted his style to make my comfortable--I like understanding all of the details while he's working on my teeth and he talked me through everything as he was doing it. I also don't like being upsold or pandered to and there was none of that. Dr. McFarlane made me feel like he had my best interests in mind and talked to me like a real person.

The dental work itself was pain-free and well-executed. I felt like precision and doing things right were very important to him and his staff. Despite the fact that I assume he does this all day, I did feel like he really cared about a 'perfect' outcome for me personally which felt very comforting after my last experience.

The veneers themselves look excellent and have a good warranty on them. They have nice dimensionality, color and shape and look totally natural. Not like some of the flat, too-white chiclet teeth you see on people.

Great work, I can't imagine a better experience and that is saying something because I do have a lot of opinions when it comes to dentists. I'd give my highest recommendation.

This is the most professional and friendly dentist office I have ever been to! Everyone is very nice and helpful. They have convenient reminders and systems such as sending you a text message and email before your appointment. The office also has beautiful decor.
