Thank you for posting this Jody! Same thing happened to us, just last week. At least you were told when you arrived for your cleaning appointment you weren’t covered. We were not even then! We got our cleanings (July 3rd) and scheduled a more work without a word. We have been going to this office for about a year and really liked the dentist and hygienists, the billing lady (Kim?) terribly unprofessional, incompetent and rude. We had an ugly scene in the lobby when I asked for an estimate for husband’s follow up appointment (July 25). I left upset and called my insurance company only to find out they were no longer in network as of July 1. Yes, wouldn’t you think we would have been told? We were notified of our upcoming appointments and asked to provide our insurance information (again) prior to our July 3rd appointment, for what Great service, really lousy administration side.

Front office handling insurance neglected to contact me about no longer accepting my Aetna Discount Plan. 3 months ago she said they mailed letters but I never received a letter. I was told "we can't control the mail", very rudely. Wouldn't you think that someone could have called me before my appt to make sure I new they no longer accepted my plan once they saw I had an appointment. No, I was not aware until I went into the office for my cleaning. I was unhappy with this news but needed my cleaning so I was willing to pay the full price of $135. To my surprise I was also seen by the doctor (I told the hygienist I was there for cleaning only) and charged an additional fee. I would advise every patient to check to see if your dental plan is still being accepted by this firm. The doctor and hygienist have always been great. My disappointment is with the way admin handled this dental plan issue.
