If I could rate this business for the dental provider alone, I'd give him 5+ stars. My son suffered a traumatic mouth injury over the weekend and Dr. Welch came in on a Sunday and repaired what he could which we were extremely grateful for. I'm rating the business 1 star due to a couple of the office staff that I felt were completely inappropriate and need some training on how to deal with customers in a compassionate and respectful manner. Most of my dissatisfaction was with a front office worker who on several occasions was very rude. I called the office to let them know that in addition to my commercial insurance, my son was now covered under Medicaid. The lady told me if they'd known he had Medicaid, they would've refused to ever take him on as a patient & that an office manager would need to call me back to discuss our options. She made me feel that I was less-than because my son qualified for Medicaid which is absolutely inappropriate and un-called for. The office manager was extremely nice and explained their policies and what I could expect going forward. I ended up missing an appointment; my mother-in-laws dog was passing away and with everything that was going on, I completely forgot about the appointment. I called the next day to reschedule and the same lady rudely told me that I'd have to speak with the office manager to discuss their policies on missed appointments before I could reschedule. I waited a week, no call-back and called again and left a message asking for a call-back from the office manager. The next day I received a text from the office offering dates/times they could see my son. The next interaction was a few months later - I had an early morning appointment scheduled and over-slept my alarm. I called them 45 minutes prior to the appointment left a message explaining I would not be able to make the appointment. A few minutes later I got a call from the office and the same lady tells me that if I don't make the appointment that day, they would no longer see my son as a patient. I wouldn't have called and told them I wasn't going to make the appointment if there was any way I could possibly make it so her statement felt more like an insult than trying to resolve the current issue. I was never called back to explain the office policy on missing appointments nor told that they would refuse to see a patient after one missed appointment - I would've happily paid a no-show fee as most offices apply when you miss more than one appointment. Lastly, the dental technician that assisted Dr. Welch had an awful bedside manner. Whenever I asked the doctor a question or he was explaining something, she'd interrupt him and seemed to take a lot of pride in knowing everything about everything. She never smiled and seemed to have a very cold and indifferent manner about herself.
In all honesty, we didn't really have a choice in discontinuing care with this provider but had it not been for these two women's behaviors and choice of words, I would've considered this an outstanding business.
