The Dr was rude , demanding and unprofessional.
She talked to me behind the consultation chair I didn’t know if she was talking to me or to another patient .
She asked me what type of services I expected from her , demanding to answer her question while I was dissolving a tablet in my mouth that was given to me as part of the pre-cleaning process.
She rudely asked me if I heard her ,or if I didn’t understood her question
I wasn’t able to talk until I got ride of what I had in my mouth .
I asked her if she could fix a filling on a tooth ,and she told me to pay for it .
my insurance supposed to cover a filling and I asked the day I scheduled the appointment .
I asked her if she could explain the X-ray and the treatment plan I need ,and she just told me that I should get a copy at the front desk .I came out of that office so confused ,asking myself what did just happened in there ? with all my heart I regret been there.
Worse experience ever , I’ve never been treated that rude and with such a bad attitude from whom supposed to be paid for good services .

Dr. Joyce Lam did lots of dental work for me over several years. I like to go to her office when I need to because everything what she does for my dental needs works well. Her staff are always very helpful and friendly. I never wait for appointment more than 5 minutes.
She is very kind, gentle, professional and using

I have been going to Dr. Lam's office for three years. Her office is five minutes away from my home. which I like very much. Dr. Lam is very good at what she does. Her staff is both friendly and helpful. They always get me into the dental chair within a few minutes of my arrival. The work is usually completed within the hour or sooner. If your looking for a good dentist try Dr. Joyce Lam.

Best dentist in my area. The office is clean, staffs are friendly. Very short wait time. Dr Lam spends big money on the high end equipment. Me and my daughter are both found her very professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Dr. Lam was very kind and took the time to use a plaque disclosing solution to teach me about cavity prevention with concrete feedback about my brushing habits. I really appreciate the extra effort and attention to detail above and beyond my expectations of going to the dentist. I've never gone to a dentist that did this and I agree that prevention is key to avoiding more invasive dental procedures. I highly recommend Dr. Lam and her staff!

I found Joyce Lam DDS, her practice to be professional and exemplary. She and her staff have made every effort to make my experience right. I have felt comfortable, informed and confident in Dr. Lam through out all my dental work completed. All my insurance questions, concerns have been dealt with appropriately. I am continuing to receive my dental care there. It is unfortunate that there are negative reviews that appear on this site. I am a veteran and a retired 32 year County of Santa Clara employee.

I was a first time patient for a general cleaning. They proposed a comprehensive exam + x ray, which I took the advice. The doctor found out that I have more than 5 places needed fillings after she adjusted the contrast of the images several times, but she wouldn’t make any treatment until she knows how good my insurance would cover that. “Besides, people move.” She added. I felt insulted and discriminated immediately, as if I’m the type of person who can’t pay up bills.
The cleaning itself was rough. She made my gum bleed slightly. She didn’t talk/explain to me much about what she was doing and how’s the condition of my teeth. All she did was talking a bunch of numbers to her assistant during the check, which didn’t make any sense to a non professional like me. Then they gave me a piece of paper listing the places I need fillings and the costs before I went home. After a few weeks, I received a statement from my insurance provider. They submitted a $300 of “case present” which of course the insurance would not cover. What type of case present is that by talking numbers to the assistant?! Just a series of 2 to 5 coming out of her mouth and a piece of paper cost me $300? Unbelievable. They also submitted fluoride fee that I didn’t ask for and didn’t know they were applying the whole time. I called the clinic and made a complaint. They agreed to not charge me anything that the insurance didn’t cover. I felt that they were very dishonest, like they wanted to test how well my insurance is.
I’ve never stepped into the clinic ever again. I don’t know how skilled the doctor is. I just don’t have faith in her. 6 months later as I went to another dentist for cleaning. He suggested that I only need one filling. Other places are just tea/coffee stains on the surface that are not needed immediate treatments at all.
