I went to see Dr. Nguyen as a second opinion for a cyst in my upper left jawbone. I told him that I had a mass in the same area when I was 15 years old which most of it was removed and was told it wouldn't grow back. He was very interested in my history and wanted to know everything about the mass, including the doctor who did the surgery. He looked at my x-rays from my dentist and suspected there maybe more then what they show. So he did another x-ray and found a mass with a cyst around it from my upper left jawbone pushing into my left sinus cavity. He took the initiative to track down my previous oral surgeon and discussed my case with her and some of his own colleges. He wanted me to have a CT scan done to make sure it wasn't anywhere else. I did so after multiple battles with my insurance company. Which I am grateful to his staff for being so helpful and patient with me and my insurance company. After all follow up appointment and reviewing of my CT scan, Dr. Nguyen said he was pretty sure it was the reoccurrence of the compound odontoma that I had when I was 15 years old and that I would have to have it removed in the hospital. He was very thorough in explaining the entire procedure with me. He also said he would biopsy it while I was under to make sure they removed everything. So after much planning (battling with my insurance), I had the surgery done. Dr. Nguyen came to see me that next morning in the hospital and even called me personally multiple times after I was discharged from the hospital. The simple gesture of the Dr. himself calling to follow up with me, rather than having a member of his staff call, showed me he cared. He still wants to continue to see me for follow up to make sure it doesn't grow back. I have never had a doctor before that is as caring and thorough as Dr. Nguyen. His staff members are wonderful, they are all so nice and very helpful. I am so grateful for all that Dr. Nguyen and his staff have done for me!
