I warm up really slowly with any doc partially because the only way I feel safe with one is to do my own research and, while studying along, see if what they're doing makes sense to my own thinking brain. So, I tend to do my research and quiz the s*** out of my docs. After two years of amazing care and a last bit of brilliant diagnostic work on my bite, I thought it about time I left them the best review I could, because doc McCracken and team have really, really earned it.

Dr. McCracken was recommended to my partner and myself by our functional medicine doc, whom we love and respect a great deal. I had been avoiding dentistry for the best part of 20 years, and so I said from the start that I'd be wanting to go slowly and read books / learn things all through the process. Dr. McCracken and team always made time for my questions; one email I think I had over 25 questions and they patiently answered them all, while I tried to make up my mind about treatment options. I strongly recommend getting involved and educated on your own dental care on top of going to Laser Smile; read a couple books, like 'Cure Tooth Decay' by Ramiel Nagel and 'The Toxic Tooth' by Kulacz and Levy. Works like those will give you a clear and perhaps startling picture of where the industry is really at, under the hood. It is highly ethical that Dr. McCracken will not perform root canals (which are mortally dangerous) nor allow the use of fluoride (highly disruptive to the body esp. hormones).

Further more, he recommended the very best possible oral surgeon for my partner's care, who was very happy to remove a root canaled tooth that had been harboring a pocket of infection for more than ten years (as root canals will do, more often than not), and who does ZIRCON implants. There aren't many who do them here yet, but that oral surgeon brought us the technology from overseas and is currently training the US doctors on it. This is an update to the titanium practices that has been 25 years late.

Both the ozone and the laser are leading the modern charge of safe and natural dental care; I definitely had my eyebrows up when I was first being told about them but they really do work crazy well.

The thing I am most grateful to Dr. McCracken for happened at my last visit. I was having enough pain in a tooth that I thought it was ruined, it was absolutely miserable and I thought surely the tooth was going to need something major. I also wanted to go do a 3D CT of my mouth because it seemed like I was dealing with a very bad infection, and had for many years. A lesser dentist would probably have overlooked checking my bite as the source of my pain (the greatest pain was from flossing 'between' the two premolars), and could easily have recommended thousands of dollars in unnecessary treatments. However Dr. McCracken realized that all that was needed was to shave a few micrometers off the existing tooth so it wasn't striking before the others, after taking a few imprints of my bite.

Just like that, 25 years of building agony in these teeth from all the focused bite pressure striking in one area first was allowed to subside (it was unfinished orthodontics work from my teen years). My headaches and sinus pain, shoulder and neck tension have been gradually healing in the few weeks since that last visit, and these were chronic issues that had put my career as a concert pianist on complete hiatus. This bite issue, combined with my genetic predispositions and high homocysteine, had caused musculoskeletal issues and inflammation that were bad enough to pull my front ribs forward out of joint from the sheer tension in my right deltoids, pectoral and spinatus muscles conspiring to cause torsion. My right rotator cuff was also being pulled chronically forward out of joint.

So in our case at least, he has given both my partner and myself a lot of our joy back, which had been lost under the issues of chronic injury (my bite) and infection (her root canal) for more than a decade of life-halting pain and brain fog. We are very, very grateful.

I only done cleanings so far, but I am very happy with the whole experience! The office stuff is nice and they are very thorough in cleaning my teeth and they make sure that you are comfortable during cleaning. They take more natural and holistic approach which I was happy to hear. Definitely recommend dr. McCracken and his stuff.

They don't even offer fluoride; my teeth have never felt more horrible since my first visit here and not getting my teeth cleaned and treated with fluoride. I've been using this toothpaste they recommended to me, and still they hurt and are super sensitive now, and the toothpaste doesn't even feel like it does anything. It hardly lathers and it's very expensive. I called their office and asked if, even if I request it, they will not do fluoride and they called it a "toxin." I will not be back.
