Back in 2019, 6 of my 8 cats were poisoned. I was completely broke, so I could do nothing but try to make them comfortable as they passed. It wasn't fast, some suffered for days. When my favorite cat got sick, I knew there was no way I could watch him suffer. I borrowed the money to have him euthanized. When I got to the office I explained the situation, and before I could even get out all the details, the vet cut me off telling me she suspected leukemia. I said I've got a video of one cat screaming as she was dying, wriggling in agony with blood pouring out her nose. She refused to acknowledge this. She said I'll tell you what, I'll even test him for free after he's been put to sleep. Wouldn't you know it, my cat wasn't poisoned, he tested positive for leukemia. Six cats, died in five days of leukemia? A long term illness? She said it's contagious. I asked why the other two survived? No answer. The other two survived because they were my shy babies, who hid from the poisoner. Leukemia. I was so mad at her rude disregard for truth, professionalism, and human decency. Not to mention how stupid.

Fast forward to 2024. Two months ago my cat Gus was stolen intentionally. I posted several places on FB his photo, the circumstances, and my contact info. Then a week and a half ago, I found a post on Susanville Lost and Found Animals. The girl stated she was helping a client look for a home for a kitty. I immediately messaged her and said thats my Gus! "I'll get ahold of her." was her only response. By evening the next day I still had not heard back. Any news? I inquired. A few hours later, hello? "I cant get ahold of her, I'll let you know asap." No helpful info at all, like who has or had my cat. So I explained to her that I filed a police report when Gus went missing. And i would send the police to find out answers if necessary. Gus is my whole world, I'll stop at nothing to find him. The next day, I received a VM from Annette at Lassen Vet. I call back and I'm met with this attitude from a lady whos the initial posters co worke, apparently. Annette was rude, accused me of mis identifying my cat, stated that they were never looking for a home for the cat (um, honey, I screenshot it before you deleted it). It was insane how much resistence I was given just trying to get my cat back. Or any helpful info regarding his whereabouts. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. And why was this posted on the lost and found page? Its all very suspect. Still no word about Gus.

I dont know the Vet ladies name but she was fantastic! She was not scared, she listened to me when I told her my dog was severely abused before I got him, and to be careful where you touch him. Piglet did not like her after she was done poking and probing him. But she pulled out the magic cookies and loved on him.
I mosy definitely will be going back.

After our vet failed to see our pug in a timely manner, Lassen Veterinary Services did not hesitate to see her. My hunch was right, our pug was too small to deliver her puppy and they took her right away to surgery. They went above and beyond. It was snowing pretty good and our vehicle couldn’t make it up the road to pick up our pugs so we parked at the end of the road and walked. They were nice enough to drive us to our car so mom and baby didn’t get cold. We are very grateful for their prompt and amazing service. Thank you for taking care of both our girls! We will no longer take our dogs to the other vet.

Staff is friendly enough but I'm not too sure how knowledgeable they are on a good pet food recommendation. I was told " all food is pretty much the same." I personally do not agree with that statement, especially because so many of our fur babies has allergies to a lot of ingredients. Maybe it's just the small town, or maybe they can not recommend for legal reasons 🤷‍♀️ They are fairly priced, I suppose, and offer a voucher for spay and neutering which helps a lot. Makes it a no brainier for those pet owners who refuse to spay and neuter 😞🙄

Great staff and a vet I felt I could completely trust. She took the time to explain what was going on and all that I needed to do to make sure my puppy heals properly She never made me feel rushed, even though they squeezed my puppy in for her visit.
That first impression is huge and starting with their receptionist/vet tech when I arrived to another receptionist when I checked out, we received kind and very friendly service.
If you are looking for compassion, honesty, fair prices and very courteous staff, than this is the Veterinary Clinic for you.
