I actually enjoy going here. It feels comfortable for all ages. The staff is exceptional, the interior is clean and very good looking. They have fun touches like a billboard with your name on it. There's a Keurig, an all female staff, no wait. The outside is unassuming and quaint, not overly medical feeling. I took a great nap while getting my braces.

My 5 yr old retainer from work done at an out of state provider where I previously lived broke. I asked my awesome dentist Dr William Whittemore ( Sellwood..Portland OR) where to go for help. He recommended Lathrop Orthodontics. The staff was super communicative and accommodated an appt right away. Dr Hillary troubleshot the retainer and determined a new one was in order. Impression was taken and I returned in 3 weeks. The retainer arrived on schedule and Dr Hillary fit it perfectly. It is the best fit I have had with a retainer in 12 years! She also helped me with the color selection, encouraging me to go with gold sparkles on my selected green color. The sparkles add a nice touch. All in all, a great office with awesome people. So glad I have them on my team.

I’m 6 months into having my braces on as an adult, which was a bit daunting, but I’m seeing a lot of change already and feel like I’m in very good hands. The staff are warm and professional. I chose this place over the other two that I got consultations from, because they were the only one that suggested moving my wisdom tooth over to replace my neighboring missing tooth, rather than putting in an implant. This saves me the cost of an implant and as they said, it’s always better to use what you already have, which I really appreciated.

UPDATE: Upon hearing about the situation the doctor called us when we were in Oregon and was able to get us in and give Cash replacement retainers. I am very happy they reached out. We really appreciate them so much for making this right for us! I have changed my 1 star to a 5 star review.

My son needed a replacement retainer on his bottom teeth. He’s in college and is off for the holiday break so he will be traveling back to Oregon and wanted to get him in to get a replacement. I was told that because it had been two years since he got his retainers they were not willing to give him a replacement (even though we were told when we got them that it was covered for life and we just had to pay a replacement fee) and that he should find another orthodontist. HORRIBLE SERVICE for something I thought should just be an easy replacement if we paid for it. I am so disappointed…ESPECIALLY after all the money we paid out to Lathrop Family Orthodontics in the first place.

I was not a patient but called for advice regarding my permanent retainer, installed by another orthodontist on the east coast years ago. Dr. Lathrop saw me on short notice, fixed my issue, and sent me on my way. Such a lovely staff, office, and experience. I’ll be recommending to others!
