We scheduled an appointment for my daughter to have her wisdom teeth removed. However, she did not want to perform surgery till my daughter had another procedure done prior to oral surgery so she could see how my daughter reacted to that procedure. First I don’t think a doctor would say that if they are confident about their own work. She then suggested we show her the results of the procedure or get a note that the procedure had been undertaken prior to even accepting to see my daughter. I don’t think she has the right to see my daughter’s medical notes and why is she insisting? It has given me a bad feeling about her and her competency so I refuse to take my daughter to see her.

Subject: Extremely Disappointing and Overpriced Experience

I would strongly advise against seeking dental care at Dr. Linda K Miyatake's practice. Our experience was marred by unprofessional behavior, exorbitant costs, and an overall lack of consideration for the patient's well-being.

To begin with, the cost of my wife's wisdom tooth extraction was double what we were charged today at another reputable dental office. This discrepancy alone raised serious concerns about their pricing practices.

Adding insult to injury, Dr. Linda K Miyatake proceeded to scold both my wife and me about our oral hygiene. This condescending attitude is completely unacceptable and created a hostile environment. Coincidentally, our next door neighbor had the same experience and she unsolicitedly shared it to us.

Furthermore, Dr. Miyatake changed the agreed-upon scope of work during the procedure, claiming the tooth was "too difficult" to remove. Despite initially promising to extract two wisdom teeth, she only removed one. This not only disrupted our schedule but also demonstrated a lack of planning and communication.

To make matters worse, my wife experienced excessive drowsiness and discomfort following the procedure. In stark contrast, her experience at a different dental practice today for her remaining wisdom tooth extraction was significantly better. She felt less drowsy and experienced minimal discomfort, highlighting the subpar care received at Dr. Miyatake's office.

Early 2021 I found out I had all 4 wisdom teeth, which had been bothering me for almost 2 years, just refused to see a dentist despite the pain. Dr Miyatake is the best doctor I could have chosen. I have severe anxiety in general, but especially around oral health/dentistry, but Dr Miyatake was so incredibly accommodating, helpful, patient, and communicative. She took extra measures to make sure I would not have any nerve damage and accommodated for multiple follow up appointments in order to avoid infection. Her staff are also all very friendly yet professional. I cannot recommend this doctor enough.

The first appointment I had with her I felt rushed and she repeated a couple times how I should have gotten my wisdom teeth removed when I was 15.

The second time I went with my 3D X-rays as she requested and the office admin had lost my dental chart. Once she came into the room she said she would not be able to do my surgery, but then went on to say she could try. Then she said her patients have a 35% chance of being numb, but then reduced ot to 10% chance. A very drastic change of percentage change of becoming numb.
She then suggested that it would probably be a good idea to let one of my wisdom tooth to become infected so she can extract it. She once again continued to repeat I should have don't the procedure done when I was 15, various times. At the end she said she would consider doing my surgery but wanted me to go somewhere else for another opinion and that she was t going to charge me for the consultation and rushed me out by saying I can go.

However I received an invoice from my insurance that she did charge me for a consultation even though she said she wouldn't and did not feel comfortable doing my surgery.

She did not seem confident with her work and I am very glad that I did not go with her to do my surgery. I went with another oral surgeon who was kind and patient. I do not suggest for you to come here if you have a impact wisdom or another complicated case.

Dr. Miyatake is really GREAT! Her professional skill is excellent, the cut wounds from my 2 lower wisdom teeth that she took were recovered pretty soon, and I didn't suffer from the recovery pain much.

I was worried that I couldn't clean the wounds well, so I went to see Dr. Miyatake every week after the surgery nearly in 1 or 2 months in a roll. Dr. Miyatake was very patient and nice, she took care of me each time and told me not to worry. Even most patient just needed to come back once after the surgery, she didn't mind seeing me so many times at all. My surgery was very successful and the wound recovered well, I feel very grateful.

Her stuff was professional, too. They call me each time a day before the appointment, nicely and politely. And Dr. Miyatake was always punctual, the whole procedure with her and her office from beginning to the end were very satisfying. Great doctor with impressive team!

And I think Dr. Miyatake charges very reasonable even with such wonderful professional skill and team, my previous dentist recommended me to someone charges the double, which I found so unbelievable.

I would recommend Dr. Miyatake to everyone I know.

Dr. Miyatake is an exceptional Oral Surgeon. I imagine she is easily at least in the top 5% of her field. I've had 7 total extractions from her over the course of my late 20s/early 30s. 6 of which were essentially pain (even without ibuprofen) and swelling free which I found to be incredibly impressive.

My 7th extraction was a deeply impacted wisdom tooth next to a nerve and she graciously undertook my case despite the difficulty, a case other surgeons were afraid to perform. Even in this case, swelling and pain was quite tolerable with the prescriptions provided.

I couldn't have been more pleased with her service and I have tremendous respect for the talent and skill she has in her craft. I'd recommend her to anyone without hesitation.

Staff is incredibly helpful. Doctor Miyatake is phenomenal. Highly recommend visiting if you have oral surgery needs. After a 3 tooth extraction (one was only roots left) never needed the pain medication other than Ibuprofen. Truly the top of her field and genuinely nice!!

I had 3 wisdom teeth extracted under general anasthesia, one of which was impacted. She was flawless - after the surgery I recovered super quickly, felt almost no pain (from all the painkillers she prescribed to me I took only one ibuprofen tablet at the first day, didn't need more), and went back to work on the third day from the surgery. I highly recommend her services.
