Luma Dentistry

At first my experience was great. That all changed very quickly after receiving a remaining balance of $230+ on what I went in for thinking was a simple cleaning that my wife had called and scheduled for specifically, only a teeth cleaning. As someone else has mentioned in the reviews, I also strongly recommend to review your bill and know your coverage BEFORE accepting any service with them. Unfortunately for me I’m left with a remaining balance with Luma dentistry that will make its way to collections because I am unable to afford any extra expenses at the moment. Apparently they are told by corporate to accept any insurance and then bill the customer for whatever remains, which is exactly what happened in my situation. At the same time, I was told on the phone that they are changing the way they handle the process to accepting new customers and guess I just didn’t make the deadline in being advised. Moving forward, everyone was friendly in the office, I just disagree strongly with the way they run their office, seems unethical to run a business in that manner. Your employees, including receptionist should be very aware of every policy in place, not just the general dentist.

Very courteous to me stayed there for over 2.5 hours waiting on my ride. They made me comfortable. I will love to come there anytime!!! I recommend them highly!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Staff could not have been more friendly or professional! Dr. Frankie was thorough, knowledgeable and explained everything in detail in easy to understand terms. DEFINITELY will continue to use and HIGHLY recommend them!!!

Always a pleasant experience at this office. I had an appointment yesterday and Jessica was my hygienist. I am not the best at keeping up with my dental health and she was super compassionate and kind regardless. Dr. Elizabeth is also incredibly kind and helpful. I left the visit feeling more educated and empowered regarding my dental health, and I would suggest this office to anyone on the hunt for a dentist.

First time visit was very good. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Will definitely go back for more dental works to be done. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.

Everyone was very friendly and very thorough with their examination and my Dr was very straightforward with explaining problems I had and how to proceed to the care of me made be very comfortable and confident was an excellent experience and will be my Dentist recommend highly

I had to come and and give Luma Dentistry in Gardendale a 5 star review. They are the best hands down, I have never had a root canal go this smooth and I am not even sore or hurting and it’s the day after . The thing that attracted me the most is they are the only dentist in the area where you can get everything done, it’s a one stop shop. The staff was extremely nice and answered all of my questions, they made me feel extremely comfortable. Luma Dentistry, you have a patient for life and I’m referring all my family and friends.

Dentist. Elizabeth (I think is her name) is amazing. This place has been wonderful but unless you know for sure your bill they will add charges, call you into for an appointment and tell you openly in front of people in the office waiting that you can’t be seen until the balance has been paid. The new receptionist was friendly until I started asking questions about my bill. Made smart comments “well that lady is no longer with us, your balance has been audited and verified and what’s it is due is correct, I’m unsure why you were billed double for a missed appt but I wasn’t here then when this was charged but I can waive one” Everything was correct and didn’t try to get someone else to look or to assist. They called me for this appt, I left work for this and my cleaning is 100% covered by insurance - but couldn’t see me? The actual dentist are great but LUMA as a whole doesn’t have my business moving forward. They slapped on $277 a year and a half after my root canal. Read the real reviews before going. I always pay my balance due and I have copies as to where my balance was paid before this was charged. I didn’t have time to go back and forth. Again - if you go please make sure you keep a copy of all the invoices before leaving them.
