Terrible experience with this clinic. Inexperienced and rude staff. They do not handle their claims and referrals in a timely fashion.

Unfortunately things won't change as this is the lowest quality insurance that is paid for by the government.

Avoid going here at all costs if you can.

I had been trying to meet with my doctor for the last six months. They kept telling me one day before my appointment day that my doctor is not available. This has been recurring numerous times. This morning again I received a call from them saying that my doctor is not available tomorrow my appointment day. They have now move my appointment to August. I hope they will stick to their word and will not change the appointment date again. That will be 8 months before I can see my doctor. They deserve no star at all.

Lost my care and they won’t answer the phone to cancel my appointments. I don’t want to get charged for it but they won’t give me any response and I’ve been calling for the last 3 days. I don’t think anyone actually works here phone wise. They have never answered before.

I was hospitalized in March for sepsis and MODS. I was placed into a 5 week paralytic state. By the time I was able to talk after a tracheostomy I was already past the 45 day limit to start State Disability. This clinic kept calling me to schedule an appointment. I was literally 5 minutes away bed bound in Marin General. Unable ti see my PCP for a visual inspection for her to sign off on Disability. Marin General was unable to sign off.
So I went from Marin General, to UCSF, back to Marin General and then finally to an acute rehab in Santa Rosa.
Santa Rosa was able to sign off and I finally got my Disability.

Now fast forward to August. I'm finally home after open heart surgery. Turn out my paperwork has been sitting in her inbox for 4 months (well past the 20 day limit).
I went to office 2ntimes a week at minimum to check on my paperwork and to get prescription refills. The office people lied to me.
I had to pick up my paperwork and drive it to Santa Rosa.
Absolutely ridiculous and borderline criminal.

I’ve been trying to use the clinic since 2018. In that time, I’ve had at least four different doctors. (I’ve had three in the last 18 months alone. Do I even have a doctor right now? I don’t know!) Their records are haphazard and calls aren’t returned for at least 48 hours. Appointments aren’t honored or are rescheduled without notice. Follow ups simply aren’t done. In no way do I recommend going to this clinic.

This clinic, and this is not hyperbole, almost killed me, and they caused me to become extremely ill and go through incredible amount of pain. To describe the incident as succinctly as possible, I am immunocompromised with Lupus SLE, and I was suffering a female type of infection that I had suffered many times before, and Recently, the infections had been going septic in my blood stream within as little as 12 hours, because of my lack of immunity, causing me to need to go to the ER with sepsis. Luckily, all I needed was a simple round of antibiotics so I went to this nearby clinic as a walk-in and explained my predicament and simple request. I brought with me evidence of my lupus SLE diagnosis. If you are not familiar, that is a very serious medical condition. My request was not anything different from one that an average person without a serious autoimmune illness would make.

Instead of helping me, the nurse immediately called in another worker to observe the situation, as if I had done something aggressive, began accusing me of drug seeking, raised her voice at me, lecturing me on the use of antibiotics. Obviously, I immediately started crying and tried to explain again and calm tones that I would probably be in the ER with sepsis if she didn't give me a simple round of antibiotics. She continued to treat me like an aggressive criminal, escalating her accusations, and finally threw me out of the office, and made one of the other workers escort me into the lobby, as if I had done something wrong!

Well, predictably, I became septic by the next morning and was in unbelievably excruciating pain that I think a lot of people on planet earth have never experienced. I went to marin general hospital ER, and the doctor on call told me it was the worst infection of that type that he had ever seen in his entire career. I spent a total of six days in intensive care and have three intervenous bags of Cipro pumped into my system. This caused a severe case of colitis, causing me an incredible amount of pain.

So, as you see, I was put in a life-threatening situation and went through a colossal amount of pain as a direct result of this clinics refusal to give me a basic care and treating me aggressively and terribly.

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE CLINIC. Immediately after, I was traumatized, and could not find the strength to take any action against them.. however, I did go into the clinic and file a report. Clearly, the clinic took no action to remediate the situation, because I continue to see similar reports popping up.

I would also like to make the observation that I am a white woman from marin, defending myself to the maximum extent possible, instead of a low income immigrant, that does not speak very good English. I can only imagine that for that second type of a person their treatment is much worse.

Updated Review:
Marin Community Clinics have gone downhill. Went recently in June of 2023 and I could not get any financial help even though I was barely working and had a low income. It was crazy! And I did not like the doctor that I saw at the San Rafael clinic. I will not be going back.

I am been going to the Marin Community Clinics for years now and the Larkspur clinic for a couple of years. They have their problems from time to time, but overall I have been very satisfied. It is the only affordable solution for myself with having type 1 diabetes. The pharmacies have saved me!

Have been trying to get a much needed Electric Mobility Scooter since January 2014, almost 3 years. Doctors and Staff have been blowing my Medicare applications by such things as missing deadlines when they had 5 weeks to sign a paper saying "Yes, he can get off & on & operate controls." Not returning phone calls to providers. Not setting referral appointments. Not setting up calls from durable medical equipment providers. Not following through with necessary paperwork. Not returning my phone calls after 3 weeks!
