Been going here 10+ years. Since Dr Chase left they jacked up the billings in peculiar ways. I was scheduled for simple cleaning, and after the service they charged me for a perio. maintenance. Cleanings are covered by insurance at 100%. This particular billing code is more expensive & only covered at 90%. It was the same as all other cleanings & it took less time. Quality of service has also degraded. I had a crown that chipped within 3 years, as it was too thin. It had to be replaced, which was not covered by insurance and it was extremely expensive.

Such a great dentist. The ability to make a crown the same day of preparation was revolutionary. They have the newest dental equipment, which improves ease and reduces the time of preparation.

I am sad to write this review because I used to love Dr. Kotula. She is a skilled and kind dentist, but over the last few years she, and her business, has changed for the worse. My last visit she had her assistant finish a crown (without checking her work) that was done poorly. Now, I'll have to have it replaced. And, their BILLING PRACTICES ARE TERRIBLE. After agreeing to the cost for that crown up front and paying my portion of the bill, they sent it off to my insurance. Then, I received a bill for the treatment 1.5 years later!!!! There were no details on the bill or explanations - just a charge of $3500. When I called them, they said that the insurance didn't pay for the crown AND the insurance told them to charge me an extra $2500. So, A YEAR AFTER THE TREATMENT they added an extra charge of $2500 to my bill. They finally removed the extra charge, but still have not sent me a detailed bill or apologized. Their business practices are horrible and, I'm sorry to say, they are all about making money.

The dentist and technicians are fantastic. Very personable, caring, and gentle.

However! Payment may prove stressful. If you have Delta Dental, be prepared to pay 2-3x (or more) what you would pay elsewhere.

If you are paying with Care Credit, although there are Care Credit signs everywhere, be prepared to be humiliated when your card is declined (for no discernible reason) then to spend lengthy time on the phone with a Care Credit customer service representative— who is equally mystified — only to find out that Care Credit cards must be manually entered.

(This information will be conveyed in a falsely cheerful voice by the same person who humiliated you earlier.)

If you are in tears by this point, yay! That’s a great emotional place to be for needles and fillings.

Billing is always off, dentists scam you and your insurance for money. They cancel on you without notice when you hold an appointment for months. Always get a second opinion as reading X-rays are always subjective especially if it means money for them. I won’t use them anymore. Shady practice.

I received an annual dental cleaning in February 2022 - the service was subpar and I determined I would not go back. At the time, I paid my co-pay and my insurance covered the rest. Two years later, I receive a bill lacking any details beyond stating that I owe almost $300 from that service. The bill did not note services rendered, billing codes, or what my co-pay / insurance covered outside of remaining balance. I left two voicemails, sent emails, and even texted with someone who said they could not provide that level of detail (why not how could they not know which dentist saw me or what services and billing codes were completed?). In order to verify the claim with my insurance, I need that level of detail to submit a claim. After approximately 5 months of requesting that information, I have received nothing but bills with no details. Under HIPAA, all healthcare providers, including dentists, are required to send any and all medical records that a patient requests, including billing information. Today, I was informed by Jennifer that my bill is going to collections. I again reiterated my request and that I would be happy to pay once I have the details I requested. Overall, this experience and their unlawful billing practices are shameful.

I really appreciate Dr Joshi and the whole staff. I had been dreading and delaying dealing with several issues which he took care of quickly and painlessly. His assistant was also very kind and helpful, as was Anna who had previously done my cleaning. Highly recommended!

I absolutely love my new smile and I am so thankful to Dr. Jeng at Marin Dental Care for her beautiful work! She truly has such an artistic eye. After having met so many dentists, I’m happy to have finally found such a gentle, personable and thorough dentist like Dr.Jeng. She also has such tiny hands and has been able to deliver numbing shots extractions and crowns for me, painlessly. I am a skeptical patient who has been through everything, but Dr. Jeng checks all the boxes you want in a dental practitioner and more.
