Nice place to get away to. Sites are plenty and spacious. Stay away from 12 though. Sun drenched most of the day. Electric only and has a fresh water filling station. Camping has a fee, but it's a open to the public for fishing, swimming and visiting the river. Ice and wood available for purchase. Also great viewing of the stars.

I really enjoyed this campground. I stopped in while attempting to cycle down the length of Illinois.

The camp host, Todd, was very helpful and friendly. There is a clean shower house with warm water. Plenty of flowers and a hiking loop. A large playground with a lake is available near the campsites.

Very nice maintain, park, with beautiful campground. Park has two main loops, around 2 miles each. Easy, by the river, lot of flowers.

I'm only about 25 minutes away from this campground. It's clean and there are plenty of sites for tent campers and RV campers. The daily rate is inexpensive even on a weekend. There are plenty of short and long trails to hike. It's also the home of Illinois' only Dark Sky Park, which is neat!

The campground area is large and beautiful. The trails are nice, and they really do keep night lighting to a minimum to enjoy the night sky. The bathroom facilities need a lot more maintenance. We had an unfortunate situation happen, which made me question the integrity of the people who work there. I would really like to go back with my telescopes, but I don't trust the people who work there. I can not recommend this place based on my first experience going there.

It's a nice place to go camping and hiking trails. Everyone is nice and respectful when I've been camping there. Has a wide variety of things to do as a family setting out in nature. It's easy to reserve your campground online and the have electric on site at the campground. They have a dump station and water to fill tank up the easy to use and get camper in and out of. I would recommend camping there. The shower house is nice and clean everyday while I was camping there too.

It's free! It's different... from looking at the sky in town. There was an event with the former Parkland planetarium guy narrating a "sky tour" who made it enjoyable & educational. Telescopes & binocs useful but not necessary. Only reason it's 4 ⭐is car headlights & ground lights need taming. Kinda blinding once your night vision is established.
