Wisdom teeth extraction review after 3 weeks.
Dr Shaw is great to talk with and addressed all my concerns and questions. I feel the wisdom extraction went very well and was professionally performed at a good price. My pain level after surgery was low and only required average dosage of ibuprofen. Recover was quick with no issues like dry socket or infection, but I did follow Dr Shaw's directions closely. I highly recommend Dr Shaw and his staff.

The entire staff was very personable and friendly! Dr. Shaw did my wisdom teeth extraction and the experience led me to recommend others to get theirs out because it was a good time. As for professionalism, they made a mistake on my billing information which led me to pay slightly too much, after they noticed the mistake they sent me back a check for what I over paid. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend!

Was treated very poorly last week by one of the doctors. He was very aggressive toward me, and did not properly introduce himself nor did he allow me to introduce myself. He entered the room with a foul disposition. A horrible experience and I left. An arrogant and disrespectful man, who seem to have no shame. It is almost as though he prejudged for I was poisoned by his dimwitted, prejudice front desk staff. He was discriminatory and very disrespectful toward me. I've not been treated that poorly by a dentist in my life, or anyone, and he showed no respect for a local, honorable man. He and his staff are terrible.

The dentist went to Stanford and was valedictorian of his high school. Big deal! Evil takes many forms and it is truly a shame I was harassed in that manner. Beware.

Might go to the OC court to see about getting the fees back. Charged for harassment.

Alan Shaw And The Staff at the Costa Mesa office are amazing and surpassed all my expectations. they are very courteous, informative and accommodating. i was referred to them for the extraction of my four wisdom teeth. They Listened to my fears and concerns and i was told that they would do everything they could to make the procedure comfortable. due to my anxiety i made the decision to be put under for the procedure. i was anxious the day of the procedure but they were understanding and kept me calm. i focused on breathing through my nose, felt a pinch in the back of my hand from the iv. he told me it should take effect in about 30 seconds.

i am going to describe anesthesia as best as i can. there was no transition from being in a lucid awake state to being under the anesthesia . no drooping of the eyes or passage of time. it was like someone flipped a switch. one moment i was focusing on breathing through my nose and the next it was done. i was a bit groggy and delirious but My Wife was there and they gave her instructions on aftercare. she took great care of me and got me bone broth, ginger ale and protein shakes. i am very lucky to have her in my life. . i was a bit nauseous for the first couple hours after but i took a nap and woke up feeling great. there was some slight pain and soreness for the first 3 or four days but its been about 8 days and i feel great now. i had a follow up appointment and they said its healing great.

Oh my, finding a truly good dentist who is competent, caring and competitive is not easy to do. Usually feel like I'm at a car dealer and ask " how much is it?" And they reply " How much you GOT?" or like a mechanic who you know is weighing your purse. Dr. Shaw and Dr. Barrios are WONDERFUL professional people. Their staff as well. You need not worry if they are overcharging you or pressuring you into a procedure you don't actually need. They are precisely what you are looking for. In the 10 years I've know them they come out as raising the bar on professionalism and quality. Love these fine folks. Go and go with peace of mind,

They answered every phone call and TEXT at all hours with any and all of my questions/ concerns. I was not charged for any follow up visits or anything at all that wasn’t completely shown to me upfront and even received a refund of some money. This place is clean and professional and I would 100% go back.
