Oral Surgery Clinic at UAB Medicine Hoover

Dr.Sitti and his team where very caring and attentive to me and my need’s being it’s been 25 years since I’ve been in a dentist office. Heading for my oral surgery this morning hopefully all goes well and I still like everyone (jk) ?

I visited this location 4-23-24 with high hopes of receiving care and a solution for the extreme oral pain and discomfort I've been experiencing for months. The "doctor" pressed areas inside of my mouth with her fingers and a tongue suppressing stick and recommend a nerve block and some numbing cream. I have VISIBLE cavities and possible decay on my 3D xrays!!! The "doctor" told me she is not a dentist and couldn't advise me regarding the cavities or holes in my teeth!!! I left more frustrated, disappointed,and in more pain after the visit.

I had surgery yesterday pulled all my bottom teeth. I think it took 20 mins. From the time I went to sleep till I woke up. I'm pain free!!! Day after surgery and I feel great!!! When you constantly having toothaches and in pain all the time can't eat it's an awful feeling. I WENT to seven different dentists in Fort Myers Florida and was told with me having CRPS type 2 they wouldn't help me. But Dr. Brian Kinard did. I didn't see him after my surgery to Thank him. Thank you for what you did! P.s the nursing staff was awesome also.

Sent my bill to collections instead of billing my insurance, without first reaching out to me. Absolutely incompetent

Highly recommend! Absolutely wonderful experience here! I saw Dr. Kinard for lower jaw surgery. He and the entire staff did such a great job of making me feel comfortable during the entire process, and were so patient and kind with all of my concerns and questions. I can honestly say it is the best care I have received at any doctors office. To them it may be their job, but my entire day to day life will be changed for the better because of the surgery and their detailed care/aftercare. My jaw was broken due to a quite traumatic event in my life and they were so understanding and professional. They are doing life changing work here- I seriously cannot put into words how extremely grateful I am.

I had 5 bottom teeth taken out by Dr. Sitti. I'm in excruciating pain! It was done 5 days ago. My cheek on the inside is gashed open about 1/4" wide by 1/4" deep. The side of my tongue is gashed open the full length. My bottom lip, from the corners of my mouth to center on both side was smashed so hard it took 1/4" of skin off. The roof of my mouth in two places is cut. My top teeth were pulled months ago but somehow the ridge is crushed. Various cuts along the bottom of the bottom ridge...The pain meds don't relieve any pain at all. The pain meds keeps me awake to feel this pain every second! I came out of there with blood pouring out of my mouth. It took 6 hours to stop the bleeding it was cut so deep. Update: It's been 2 months and my cheek that was so unnecessarily torn from my top ridge to the bottom ridge is completely numb. I have nerve damage in my face. My cheek is still swollen on the inside so much I bite it while laying down or even eating. Eating is a real chore, takes forever because with every "chew" I have to move my cheek out of the way of my teeth. Keep in mind the procedure was to take out 2 back teeth on the bottom. I do not recommend seeing Dr Sitti (shortened version of his very long name). He is a hack. He caused me alot of pain. Not just the sockets where he took out teeth; but my whole mouth is tore up. My jaw bone is out of place, my entire cheek is numb still. He left half of one tooth that was to be removed. He should have stitched my cheek. He left it open. It's still not completely closed up and is still very painful. Never again!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! I visited this location after a terrible wisdom tooth extraction gone wrong. I walked into the clinic crying, distraught, and in unbearable pain. The Receptionist, Nurses, Anesthesiologist, Surgeon(Dr. Sittitavornwong) , Resident and ALL of the Techs were VERY empathetic and were willing to make my emergency visit as smooth as possible. The process was quick(as quick as it could be), and pain free. I understood all financial costs, what insurance would cover and I was also offered payment plan options if I needed them. I was educated on all medications that I was receiving and how they would play a part in ensuring a safe & pain free surgery. If I could hug each person here, I would. I am so thankful for each of you.

The good: The facility is nice and the staff are friendly, Dr Sitti set me up with a night guard for tmj. The bad: I was referred from Tricare and this office has been a huge headache. The referral paperwork was mishandled twice then incorrectly put into the system, leading to delays in care. They seem to be lazy when it comes to effort for pre authorizations, they cut corners and try to treat first. Tip- refuse to sign the paper and demand a pre auth. I also have a bill that has been mishandled several times and I'm convinced the billing dept is completely incompetent.
