I was assigned here by MediCal and was very hesitant at first due to the reviews. I felt it would be really hard to transfer to a private practice so I decided to go and was impressed. I’ve had doctors who are very quick to make women feel like there issues are nothing. Here at the Petaluma health center they’ve been nothing but kind and helpful. I got my first IUD at this clinic and felt very safe and they gave me more than enough information to help me feel comfortable and be prepared for what to expect.
My sister also used to work for the health district in Petaluma and told me the head of the Petaluma health center would attend the meetings and clearly cared deeply about her job and the community. Defiantly recommend going here.

Petaluma Health Center is NOT useless at the Rohnert Park center.
My application to be a new patient with Medi-Cal (ie: the Partnership HMO) & Medicare, also known as "Duel Coverage ", processed OK.
Then I waited & waited to get the initial visit with my new PCP.
Once in the PHCCA network, my treatment has been great in comparison to my previous Mendocino County providers that had limited everything.
Rant & complain about PHC's lack of treatment at the McDowell Blvd location all you want.
I recommend the Rohnert Park center for responsive care, cuz that's what I'm getting.
Office visits, the My Chart tool, prescriptions, & laboratory results, all completed with no worries & near zero out-of-pocket costs.

Don’t bother! Petaluma Health Center and it’s doctors are listed on my insurance as in-network and taking new patients. Called to make an appointment and the receptionist advised they do not take my insurance. When I advised they and the doctor I was trying to make an appointment with the was listed on my insurance as in-network, she again said they don’t accept my insurance and I could pay on a sliding scale. I had to advise her that I make too much $ to qualify for a sliding scale so what’s the point of paying insurance premiums if I have to pay outside my coverage. What a waste of time and energy reviewing their doctors in my insurance app and then being told my insurance is basically useless. Clearly the health center makes plenty of $ that they don’t need patients with insurance but they are too lazy to notify the insurance company that they no longer take their insurance company’s insurance and are wasting insured’s time and effort. It’s the health center’s responsibility to notify the insurance company. These idiots clearly make their $ from taxpayer government funded sources serving those in the system and screwing those of us funding that system. Don’t waste your time, there are other fish in the sea, and I’ve notified the insurance company because Petaluma Health Center is completely inept in such…and probably their care also, as if they can’t handle a simple notification to the insurance company that they no longer accept the insurance, they certainly cannot possibly provide adequate healthcare.

Edit: It took 36 days to get my records. That violates HIPAA.

They got a referral request from my insurance and sat on it for two weeks until I called. When I called, they point-blank refused to send my records and then refused to give me my records (super against HIPAA, btw). I called back after speaking to an ombudsman to get that in writing. I was sent to Pam, the compliance officer.

Pam assured me that they "just needed training" and that my medical records would be there Monday morning at 11. When I got there, no one had heard anything and neither my records nor Pam were able to be found.

After signing a form to release my records to my insurance, the Suite A front desk staff (confused because they had been told nothing about this) ran the form over to the Medical Records office and promised me a call back in about 45 minutes.

Three hours after I showed up, I complained so much to the main front desk that they got someone from Medical Records to come down "Maricella" had obviously not reviewed anything because she told me that, while there was a record of the fax coming in, they no longer had it, and just did not seem to care at all. Not when I mentioned that everyone had been refusing my records, not when I explained that this treatment was really important. I left feeling like no one cared.

I had an appointment the next day at the Rohnert Park location. The doctor there was able to pull up the fax and the request for authorization, as well as the form I signed for the release. That doctor said she would call and speak to them, but between Maricella lying and Pam not returning my calls for almost two weeks now, this is terrible. And about 3 from becoming a HIPAA violation (they have 30 days before a complaint can be filed. We are at 12).

This place is absolutely not for patients. It was the worst experience I've ever encountered in the medical world. The facility prioritizes its rules and liabilities over patient health. They seriously need to get their priorities straight because their current approach is appalling.

I visited this clinic because I recently moved and needed them to take over my care from my former doctor. Instead of continuing with my established treatment plan, they tried to change my current medication, which has been validated by four different doctors. They wanted to try other medications that had nothing to do with my condition and take me down paths I had already explored, which had previously failed.

Despite my current medication working well, they insisted on a different approach without even considering my medical history. To make matters worse, if you're on any controlled medication, they refuse to prescribe it out of fear. Their approach is a joke. They like to use the term I’m not allowed to write that proscribed medicine. First off a clinic is not allowed to dictate what a doctor does with their medical license. It’s absolutely against the law.

When I pointed out that they were making medical decisions without reviewing my records, the doctor's face turned bright red. At that point, I walked out of the office.

I received a call saying I had an appointment on Monday at 10:30. The person who called did not introduce themselves nor did they say who I had an appointment with. I’ve never been to this clinic. When I called to clarify I was properly put on hold for 25+minutes at which point I hang up and wrote this review.

For those who have a stake in ownership of this clinic, you should consider instructing your staff to leave appropriate messages and consider hiring enough people to properly answer your phones.

I’ve never been to the clinic, but following up on the message I received has left me to believe this is probably a poorly of run clinic that is full of mistakes and mishaps.

The lack in communication and the ability to contact my PCP is basically non-existent. Once you leave the center, good luck receiving adequate follow-up care. It’s like the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. I had to wait a week for a prescription to get filled despite many attempts to have it sent to a different pharmacy because their pharmacy was out of the medication. In fact, another time my doctor was out of town and nobody told me and my prescriptions were just not being sent in to the pharmacy. I’m going back to Kaiser!

They are literally the worst people in the county. They take all the county’s med cal patients and treat them like garbage.

They don’t care About your health and refused to continue providing me with medication I have been on for 10 years and the treatment was working. They wanted me to accept they were not going to help me. Absolute animals
