I want to visit my friend who is living in the Pines Assisted Living on the First Floor. She asked me to get her some toilet paper. Their policy is the family should buy the loved one toiletries. I understand that a person probably likes a particular tooth brush, tooth paste, soap, facial cleanser, dry skin creams, wrinkle creams, cortisone creams. But TOILET PAPER? I think for the price they charge, they should provide the client with Toilet Tissue. I think that is just plain cheap. My friend enjoys it there. She likes the care she receives, the cleanliness, the food, & the activities. I just think they should pay for the toilet tissue. I've been in hotels, rehabs, & hospitals and they never charged you for toilet tissue. It was included in the price. I think it should be included in the price here. I asked AI if a permanent assisted living facility should provide their customers with Toilet Paper & it what they said: " It's generally considered questionable for an assisted living facility to charge high monthly fees and then require residents to pay for basic necessities like toilet paper. While assisted living costs can be substantial, including items like toilet paper is often seen as a basic aspect of the provided services. This is why it's considered questionable:
High monthly fees:
Assisted living facilities already charge substantial fees for room and board, meals, and other services.
Basic necessity:
Toilet paper is a fundamental hygiene item, and it's expected that a facility providing care would include it in their services.
Focus on holistic care:
Assisted living focuses on providing a comfortable and supportive environment for residents, and requiring them to pay for toilet paper can be seen as a small detail that adds to the overall cost and can be perceived as a lack of care. "

My grandmother recently spent time in rehab at this wonderful nursing home, and I am deeply impressed by the exceptional care she received. The entire staff has been truly remarkable, demonstrating both professionalism and genuine compassion in every interaction. The nurses were particularly outstanding, always attentive and thoughtful, making sure that my grandmother’s needs were met with kindness and expertise.
Melissa, the administrator, deserves special recognition for her top-notch leadership and dedication. Her commitment to ensuring a smooth operation and her responsiveness to any concerns we had were truly commendable. Her presence and proactive approach greatly contributed to the positive experience we had.
Overall, the warmth and competence of the team here have made a significant difference in my grandmother's rehabilitation journey. I highly recommend this nursing home to anyone seeking exceptional care for their loved ones.

We were so happy to find this sub acute rehab after searching for a place to put our mother after her hospital stay. This place exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, she had a private room, private bath (spotlessly clean) the staff was very caring and attentive and tended to all of our mothers needs. The staff constantly checked on mom day and night and made sure she was well cared for. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who needs sub acute care.

My husband just spent approximately 12 days at the Pines Rehab. We found the nurses, administrators and all aids to be very helpful and pleasant. They go out of their way for the patients. Anything my husband needed they were more than willing to accomodate him. He said the food was delicious and enjoyed the meals. The physical therapists assisted him with the therapy he needed. He improved under their care and is now at home. It is a very warm and inviting place. We are very thankful to all the staff at the Pines Village Rehab.

The staff at The Pines has provided excellent care for my Father when we were no longer able to care for him at home (during the final stages of dementia). The staff does an excellent job getting the residents out of bed, keeping them clean, feeding them at a table even when they need assistance eating, and consistently being compassionate and attentive to their needs. Recognizing this is an incredibly challenging job and often thankless environment, the nurses and caregivers treat their work as a responsibility that is more than a job and provide the residents and families with a comforting option when living independently at home is no longer an option.

My father was admitted to the Pines in September 2023 place was our choice out of 5 in area. Care was great first 7 months then downhill after that. New administrator and director of nursing the rudest people I have ever met in all my years of nursing. Medical staff (Dr's) never followed thru with issues my dad was having constant reminders were made to day nursing staff. As far a nurses aides they were very good (Travis, Louise, Tracey, Evelyn and Vanessa) and couldn't do enough for my Dad. Unfortunately we had to make a decision to transfer my father to another facility to receive better medical care. Please if you have anyone in this facility you must advocate for them because the new administration is just interested in making a profit not concerned with patient's well being! Before committing to placing you're family member in this facility visit and talk to residents in long term and assisted living they sure will give you a ear full since new owners have taken over!

Pines has a friendly and very helpful staff and a good selection of comfortable and well-maintained apartments with individual heat control. The food is good and the menu has ample variability. We have experienced a very smooth transition when my wife had to be moved from the independent living section to the nursing care. I have been recommending Pines to my friends and would not hesitate to continue to recommend it to friends (and even enemies).
