I went in for my upper wisdom teeth removal. The staff there are so friendly and amazing. I was very nervous, but Dr. Shaw and her assistant Albert immediately put me at ease. Albert helped me so much through the process that I felt calm and confident. Dr. Shaw was very professional, friendly and so great at getting my teeth out so fast I didn’t even feel a thing. I’m so happy I came here for my wisdom teeth removal. Thank you so much.

My personal Dentist referred me to Sacramento Surgical Arts (Eastern Sacramento Facilty) for a molar extraction. She highly recommended Dr. Emily Shaw, MD & DDS, Oral Surgeon. I did an initial Consultation Appointment with Dr. Shaw. She was very personable and listened well to my process questions and explained my options and her recommended course of treatment. After we discussed my questions and concerns, I scheduled an appointment for my molar extraction. The day of the oral surgery I arrived and the staff prepped me for my procedure. I was made comfortable; Dr. Shaw reviewed the process steps with me: she verified with me that I was OK to proceed and then she got started. I was given an oral and local anesthetic and she then extracted my molar cleanly; next she proceeded to pack in a bone graft, topped it off with a collagen plug; all secured with dissolving sutures. Then I was given my post-op instructions on how to manage any pain and how best to treat my wound care.

Consequently, I had a great experience with the staff at the Eastern Sacramento Facility!!

I'm updating from my previous review to this one, my early review I was frustrated, mad and in pain because I couldn't get the schedule that I needed to work with my work schedule. With that being said I was seen on 09/01/23. Dr. Shaw evaluated the area and informed me that I was healing properly and just where my tooth was impacted it was taking longer to heal because the clot was not there, however there was a small layer of healing going on. They cleaned out the area, gave me some gel to stop the pain and recommended that I don't eat on the side that was causing me the most pain. Maricela is always great with me every time I go there and I recommend talking with her about anything regarding your schedule. Dr. Shaw is a great surgical dentist, I was wrong to state otherwise with my last review and took it down since it didn't show her character in a good light. Dr. Shaw cares about her patients and she does the absolute best that she can. She even took my call on her off day just to walk me through another process. If you're coming to this office, choose Dr. Shaw, you're in good hands with her.
