Dr Chuck and his amazing staff at Surf City Smiles could not be any more wonderful! From a smiling face greeting you as you enter to McCoy, the friendliest puppy to ease any anxiety, to the back staff always making sure you are comfortable. My daughter actually looked forward to going to the orthodontist and changing the colors of her rubber bands and visiting with McCoy. With 4 children, we are so happy to have found such a great office to trust with our kids orthodontic needs. We highly recommend Surf City Smiles.

Come here for your orthodontic needs! Super friendly and kind staff, clean and comfortable office. The front has plenty of chairs, couch, and even a table for homework or work while waiting. The staff know their patients by face ☺️. Appointments are prompt and patients are brought back quickly. There’s even a gentle, friendly office dog to love on you while you wait. In terms of orthodontics, my daughter was in desperate need of braces. They created a plan at initial consultation with multiple payment options, walked us through the details and options, and she was wearing braces within a week. As a 10 yo her teeth moved super quickly and braces came off within 6 months. The permanent retainer didn’t stay well, so they even applied the front brackets again to retain ideal teeth position at this sensitive age. Highly recommended.

Dr Chuck and his staff are very kind, helpful and efficient! The atmosphere is welcoming and they make you feel at home. My son’s teeth in the first few weeks have already reshaped his entire face! I really like that you can pay one fee up front for the entire process and it saves you money! I am so thankful for their services! And don’t let me forget about the amazing massage chair I get to use while I wait for my son to get his braces checked! Super thankful! ?

Dr. Carlson and his team are just fabulous! We love the entire team. Our family have been going to Surf City Smiles for years. We have 5 kids and Dr Carlson has been so wonderful with each of them. They have earned my trust, and I am so grateful to be able to entrust my kids’ teeth to them. The entire team is so warm and takes the time to care for each of our kids. In addition, the work is fabulous. My kids’ teeth look GREAT. Everyone comments on how beautiful their teeth and smiles are. Thank you Dr. Carlson. I also have to share this one experience our family had with Surf City Smiles. A few years ago, my wife was going through Cancer, and the crew at Surf City Smiles sent her a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a get well card. Surf City Smiles is treating my son - who was 9 when he started - with Invisalign! My son was adamant about getting Invisalign and Dr. Carlson was surely an expertise at guiding us through the process with him being at such a young age. My son is almost done with treatment and his teeth look amazing. Dr. Carlson was very thorough and kept his treatment on track adjusting aligners along the way as needed. My daughter can't wait until it's her turn! ...also worth noting for parents curious, my son remained very compliant when it came to wearing and caring for his aligners!

We have gone to Surf City Smiles for all of our family's orthodontic needs and have nothing but great things to say about this office! My eldest son just got his braces off (2nd round) and his teeth look amazing - yay! The process was easy and Dr. Chuck explained what was going on each step of the way. My younger son has a more complicated mouth, so his braces will be on longer, and yet everything is going smoothly as well. From an awesome office space, qualified staff, personalized treatment, friendly people, fantastic Dr., and assistance with billing questions, we seriously have NOTHING BAD to say about this place! I actually look forward to my kids' appointments because I enjoy chatting with everyone so much! Combine all of these things with the perfect smiles we are seeing and I give Surf City Smiles a 110% rating!! You won't regret your decision to give them your business!

Super happy with the result and whole team was amazing! My son's dentists all have complimented how wonderful his teeth came out. We came back to have new retainers since he had 4 wisdom teeth removed.. They all remembered us and the service was tip top as always! Thank you Dr. Carlson and your wonderful team!
