So I was going back and fourth about leaving this review because I’ve been taking my two oldest children here (now 9 and 6 yrs old) for the last four years and we’ve had a good experience everytime! But the last time we went will be the last time we EVER go to this dentist.

Also be mindful they just switched dentists and there’s also a few new/different staff members as well.

My son needed a spacer amongst other things so they put him to sleep and that all went well (so I thought) he was super out of it and they wheeled him out in a wheel chair which is prob pretty standard procedure.

We got home at like 2p or so and he slept pretty much the rest of the day. When he woke up at 10p he chugged Gatorade and went back to sleep. He woke up in the morning (5a) and said his mouth hurt. I gave him meds. He threw it up cause he refused to eat anything after I gave him meds. You know normal kid shi*

Anyways his SPACER FELL OUT when he was eating yogurt. I was at work at the time I came home (4p) found out what happened and called the dentist the next morning. They insisted we go in so they can fix it, and I agreed. Even though it was extremely inconvenient.

Later that night he had a pizza lunchable and again lots to drink. Finally the meds stayed down and he was doing well.

Long story summed up we went back to the dentist. I had to have him miss ANOTHER day of school for their mistake so I was already irritated I’m not gonna lie to yall. We get there and the dental assistant goes “so what did you eat that was hard?” My son goes “uhhh, hard..the only thing I ate that was hard was a lunchable” then she looks at me with a grin on her face and in a real nasty tone goes “that’s why his spacer fell out”

Mind you I’ve never seen this lady a day in my life. She acts like she’s the one put the spacer in ?

I was like “that’s not why, if you put two and two together lunchables aren’t that hard (pizza lunchable for clarity) and also he couldn’t eat right afterwards as he was in pain…which you should know as a dental assistant but I digress”

Anyways she’s like “did you bring the spacer I was like nope no one said to do so and I assume it’s broken hence it fell out but I can go back home and look for it if you don’t have another” and she’s like “well your insurance won’t cover it and it’ll be $100 outta pocket if you don’t find it”

If I don’t find the spacer that you guys put in incorrectly? Got it. I left with my 9 year old AND 2 month old back into the 100 degree weather and drove 30 mins round trip. So you could imagine I was even more agitated.

I found it. Luckily! ..my partner put it up after it fell out of his mouth.

They ended up putting A NEW SPACER IN because the original was the wrong size. Even after she tried accusing my child for his spacer falling out.

So ima just end the review right there. But yeah we’re not going back. Just letting yall know the monkey shi* they were on. Another parent spazzed on them when I initially went in and I was like what could be so serious to freak out like that then this happened..

Everyone here is so kind and the office is very welcoming and warm. My son just had to get some dental work done and had to go under anesthesia today. Dr. Bland made me and my husband feel extremely comfortable and was really awesome with our son, even the anesthesiologist. We have also came here prior for his cleanings and the hygienist are awesome too. I cannot say enough great things, especially being a nervous parent they really do a great job at explaining and treat your kiddos like their own. Thanks Dr. Bland again for being so kind, and treating our kiddo.

My husband and I love this office for our kiddos! We have been going here since they were babies and they are 5 and 7! The dentists are so encouraging, professional, and have great communication with the kids!

Frances assisted Dr. Bland during our daughter’s procedure, and she went above and beyond to make us all feel comfortable! ? She gave us a detailed explanation and courteous walkthrough of what to expect, and she was very professional, warm, and friendly throughout the entire visit! Dr. Bland did an excellent job on our daughter’s dental work! This staff is superb! Their level of expertise and customer service is UNMATCHED! They truly deserve 6 stars!

I have 5 kids and will never change dentist again . The staff is very friendly and professional. Francis, is beyond amazing and doc maddix and bland are the best I've found to date. Highly recommend!!!!

Great dental office with friendly staff and dentists who make the kids feel comfortable. Location is clean and cozy with fun play area for littles.

My two children both needed cavity work done about a year ago. I was uncomfortable because instead of doing one quickly at a time, they went back and forth between the two room elongating the process they are drugged and have uncomfortable jaw pain.

Fast forward to a year later, I switched dentist places and did x-rays to find out the pulpotomy (removing part of a tooth's pulp when a cavity has hit the nerve) - they only did a partial pulpotomy on my child. Our new dentist showed us with the x-ray the pulp wasn't fully removed. It was a partial pulpotomy (procedure I paid in full for was done wrong and unfinished) which leads to greater increase of infection under the tooth which would lead to removal of the tooth altogether. The dentist that performed this partial pulpotomy was a female. I did notice when I was last at Surprise Pediatric Dentistry, they recently hired a male doctor. Maybe he is better and more experienced with these procedures, but I would definitely not recommend the female docs at this place!!!

Dr Bland isn’t so bland after all! In fact, I can easily say this was the best dental visit myself or my kids have had. He sang and played guitar for all kids and was utmost kind and compassionate. The entire staff was friendly and personable as well. I hope this staff stays long term. My kids and I would be sad if we no longer could enjoy having them around. Thanks for a great service!
