I am no longer reluctant to go to the dentist for a teeth cleaning. This team is the best! They strike the perfect balance between putting you at ease and diligently cleaning your teeth. Truth be told, I have room to improve my brushing habits, but I was provided clear instructions on how to improve, without the scolding. I left the appointment feeling more relaxed than when I arrived! Life is good.

Read other reviews, they are not lying… they can’t do their billing work, they said they assured you insurance will cover and said they double checked to push you do some services. but then after 1 month they come back and told you that you have balance and insurance not covering it. Not sure if law supports this, assume the hidden disclaimer in somewhere. If many people suffered from this, should consider hire lawyer together and fight back. It’s not even money issue, it’s a trust issue.

This was my first appointment and from my first interaction with Samantha, the experience was great. Erin was awesome (and entertaining) and did a great job cleaning my teeth. Everyone was very nice and personable as well as competent. The office has a great "vibe." How often can one truly say that they enjoyed a visit to their dentist!

My tooth broke and dr Tasto was able to save it by immediately attending to the problem. The atmosphere was very friendly and I was fully informed about the nature of the problem and treatment options. I highly recommend Torrey Hills Dental!

The office manager could not do billing for a cleaning after I had been a regular for three years. She decided to send me emails accusing me of stealing the payment. Then when I was upset she accused me of stealing they accused me of harassment. That is really really bad customer service.

I never asked you for anything. I kept all your pens and cards. And I recommended you and you thought I was trash.

I have been a long time patient at Torrey Hills Dental and had positive experiences until recently. This year, I started medical school and switched insurances to the one offered by the medical school program, which put Torrey Hills Dental out-of-network. Being in school, I don’t have a lot of disposable income to spend on routine cleanings that are covered by my insurance if I stay in network. A week prior to my scheduled cleaning appointment, I called the office to explain this and to cancel my the appointment, but was told both over the phone and over text message that my routine cleaning would be covered “at 100%”, so “they would keep the cleaning on the books for me”. Fast forward to 3 weeks later, I receive a letter in the mail for over $300 for this visit. I called and sent emails over the next week but heard no response (granted, it was the week of the fourth of July). I personally stopped in to the office to ask where the miscommunication was that led to me being footed a bill I tried for avoid in the first place. The billing manager noted that I was only liable for $175 and she could give me a $30 discount, which stills seems absolutely ridiculous given that they misled me into keeping the appointment under the guarantee that it would be covered under my new insurance. I feel incredibly misled by the office and as someone entering the medical field find this incredibly unethical. I would recommend that you do your own homework and call the insurance company yourself if you have any doubts about coverage if you are a patient here- do not take the office’s word as the honest truth as to how much money you may be liable for.

Torrey Hills Dental came highly recommended by several people I know and now I see why! I booked an appointment using their online form and they contacted me immediately. Their team is extremely friendly, helpful, and professional, which made me feel at ease right away. I saw Dr. James Tasto and he listened to everything I said and provided me with options. They were upfront about costs and I never felt like I was getting the "upsell" which I had endured at other dentists. I was looking for a new dentist I could trust and now I've found one!!

The experience here was good so the dental work was good I was happy. However, in spite of having insurance they cost a bomb. I have gone to other dentals who charge normal prices but they are literally pulling your money out for basic work. I was told I will have multiple visits which will go into over 3k with insurance. Sorry, I don’t have any major work and have never paid beyond the regular and they were trying to make it as if I have serious issues. I always refer to other dentists and found another one which was more honest. Kindly be honest and don’t overcharge for basic stuff.
