Arrived on-time and waited for over an hour past my scheduled appointment time in their hot, jam-packed waiting room, with very uncomfortable chairs, before seeing the dentist.

After being examined for less than 2 minutes, I was told I needed time get an X-ray and then the dentist appeared with a treatment plan that included surgery that could make my lower lip permanently numb.

They charged me full price for everything on the way out the door, since they stopped participating as a Delta Dental Insurance In-Network provider on 7/1/2024 (they still tell you you are "covered" if you have a PPO when scheduling, which is at best a half truth, as you may only be partially covered depending on how they file. Like me, you may not be reimbursed for any of the charges because of the way they code oral exams ("Consultation D3910" which is. It covered by my dental plan). So I paid $245 for an exam that was covered at $0, and $170 for a Panoramic X-ray that was covered at $90. To add insult to injury, the $90 that the insurance paid went to the provider because they coded the service as "signature on file" meaning they would bill me for the allowed charges, instead of "paid in full." 10/10 do not recommend.

This place can be better managed by elementary students. I drove 40 minutes for them tell me they cancelled my appointment and bluntly lying to me that they called and emailed me, while I never received an email or call. UCLA Health you can do better. Then, telling me they cannot validate the ticket although it’s their fault.

The UCLA Faculty Dental Group is a phenomenal dentist office. After being truly dissatisfied with my last choice in dentist (Mid-Wilshire Dental) I switched to a PPO plan specifically to come to this dentist office and after my first week of being a patient, I'm absolutely positive I made the right choice. The staff is professional, the service providers are friendly and knowledgeable (I had Dr. Perlaza who is wonderful), and their work is top notch. I am blown away by how much care and guidance I have been given by this place. After my initial doctor visit Wednesday, they were able to schedule me the next day on Thursday for my cleaning. Moreover, I was set to return again in a month and they called my that same Thursday to offer me to come in Friday. 3 days, 3 appointments - that's fantastic customer service that really makes a patient feel valued and well taken care of. Can't see myself going anywhere else now. If you work on the UCLA campus, this is a no brainier for dental care.

I have had the most disturbing experience at UCLA Faculty practice. I have been going here since I was 12 years old. When my kids were born, I started bringing them into the pediatric practice. My kids are now 7-11 years old. We recently moved practices and I found out all my kids have cavities and that it is not normal to NEVER have had a full mouth X-ray in all these years. I have been extremely diligent in all their dental care and cleaning (on a daily basis - flossing and brushing each child myself) but also in taking them to see the dentist and show up for cleanings every 4-6 months, whatever was asked of me. None of my kids molars were sealed, none had gone for a consult for orthodontics (despite a necessity for it), and not one child had X-rays done. This is beyond a normal standard of care - it's negligent. Now my kids are getting all this dental work done for fillings that should never have been needed and getting seals, much belatedly. One cavity was visible to the naked eye and was not caught, even though we saw UCLA roughly a month ago (and could not have developed in the time since). I'm completely horrified because I thought I could trust this practice. And it is extremely difficult to schedule with them - they are not good about following up even when they say they cannot schedule you and will call you back.

Good luck trying to get your dental records - you can fill out every form, leave messages, emails, and they will not give them to you.

I stopped going to the adult practice myself about 2 years ago because there was CONSTANT turnover with the dentists that I was seeing someone new every single time.

I had a bit of an emergency and needed to get in and out rather quickly. I am not a patient at this practice, but they accommodated me. I was seen by Dr. Khalifah who was so nice and funny. Her assistant was also very nice. They fixed my crown and was empathetic to my situation. I will recommend this practice to all of the faculty I work with. Everyone was wonderful!

I have been going to the ucla facility dental practice for around 20 years. Currently I have noticed a decline in the customer care area. Unable to get someone to answer the phone just Recording to leave your name and number. No number to call in case of an emergency or to cancel an appointment and reschedule. I have referred a few people there and they have been very unsatisfied with their care and Customer Service. I hope the service and Customer Care improve or I will be looking for a new dentist facility also.

All the front of house staff here are amazing. They handle the workload and the pressure with extreme professionalism and patience. This office is in dire need of more staff to fulfill the needs of the patient population. However, kudos to everyone who answers the phones, booked the appointments, and make sure everyone leaves with a smile.

If you have an emergency or want to contact the office staff with questions, you will be out of luck. The line is either busy or no one answers and the only option is to leave a voicemail. No one answers the emergency number either but you can leave a voicemail. However, no one calls back when you leave voicemails. No one replies to texts or emails either. The office only seems to care about getting existing patients to show up for appointments on time (with multiple automated text messages and/or emails), but not if problems arise after procedures.
