Stay Away. On my consultation with Dr. Sohail Saghezchi I waited for an hour while they looked for the disk of my CT scan. He came in and told me they couldn't find it, so I would have to come back.
On my next visit they again told me they didn't have the disk and spent 30 minutes looking for it. I hand delivered another disk 2 weeks before. He was dismissive of my serious medical history. On the surgery day I told them I was allergic to Amoxicillin. He replied, "no she's not". He said he wasn't going to give me an antibiotic. This scared me. I've always had antibiotics for dental surgery.
I'm on immunosuppressive therapy for a serious autoimmune disease. I felt my health and safety were in jeopardy. I left without doing the surgery. The doctor billed my insurance for another office visit for the canceled procedure. I'm not sure that's legal.

There's a reason I am giving this clinic 5 starts, bear with me. Yes, the front desk doesn't return the calls a lot, yes, the clinic doesn't process insurance, yes, it speaks volumes. However, Dr Roberta Jurash and Dr Jennifer Buchanan are amazing amazing professionals who have been the only doctors to have been able to help me with TMJD, I have spent a lot of money on cures before this, and not much improvement earlier. Just because the doctors are so awesome, and from what I hear these doctors are new to the clinic though incredibly incredibly experienced otherwise, give them a chance. They care incredibly and often spent event an hour with me, sometimes both of them together, working on my treatment.

IMO, these doctors deserve a better reception and claims processing process, but I go through those pains for the incredible care.

I usually donā€™t make reviews like this but originally my mother and I decided to ignore the negative reviews here because we were referred here due to my unique situation with the position of my wisdom teeth and wanted to value health and safety over everything, HOWEVER, after the horrible customer service and treatment we have received from this dental clinic, we have decided to cancel my appointment all together.

It all started when my wisdom teeth were deemed by my dentist as needing to be removed and he referred me to an oral surgeon, Dr McDonald in Pinole, CA. Dr. McDonald took some X-rays and decided to then refer me to UCSF due to the fact that one of my teeth were very close to a nerve and said ā€œthey were the ones who created the procedure for this exact situationā€. After we got the referral my mother was concerned about the bad reviews here and was hesitant but after some thinking we decided to continue with visiting the office and having a consultation. After the consultation I made an appointment that same day with their office before leaving.

A couple weeks later they abruptly called me saying that they had to push my appointment, because the doctor I was scheduled for (the one I saw for my consultation) was suddenly going on vacation. The only alternatives for my rescheduled appointment was something as short notice as a week later or something as far out as three months later. I couldnā€™t do a surgery that would take me a week to recover on short notice because I was already scheduled that week for work. So I took the appointment that was months later. Throughout the next few months they would call me whenever they had a cancellation but it was always on a short -notice week-later appointment, again, I HAVE WORK.

Another reason why I couldnā€™t do such short notice is that they have still not given me an estimate for how much the entire procedure would cost me and how that would work with my insurance. Finally, today they tell me how much it would cost but not before telling me a convoluted explanation for why I have to pay the entire procedure and then have my insurance reimburse me. Now here is the part where I feel like I should mention that my family are immigrants and I have grown up struggling with these kinds of situations where both me and my parents have to figure out the healthcare system and how to afford things like this.

I wonā€™t get into too much of my personal unfortunate circumstances regarding my insurance, but basically I had some consecutive phone calls with someone in their office and asked all of the questions me and my parents had regarding the way they were going about billing us and our insurance. During this phone call, this particular person responded to what I thought to be a normal question, since I and my parents were very confused, but laughing at me and saying ā€œthatā€™s insurance fraudā€ with a condescending and accusing tone. When I tried to further clarify that I was just confused and relaying my parentsā€™ questions, she then proceeded to accuse my dad of having some kind of bad intent after I mentioned that my dad was confused why it had to be done that way. When I tried to defend my dad by saying that my whole family is just trying to navigate this whole thing and figure out how we are going to pay it, she then reasoned that she worked in pediatrics and ā€œunderstandsā€. I was beyond shocked and upset and just ended the call as politely as I could. Iā€™m not sure what she meant by her last comment but I donā€™t really care to dwell on it and think about more than I have to.

I just wanted to write this to warn other people of my experience. I hope this review was clear enough, Iā€™m still upset and donā€™t want this to be any longer than it already is.

My original appt for a TMJ consultation here was scheduled 1.5 months away, but the office contacted me just a few weeks later with an opportunity to get off the waitlist due to a last minute cancellation, which I really appreciated.

Dr. Roberta Jurash listened carefully to my complex TMJ history, looked at my imaging, and provided some very useful guidance on the tradeoffs of different treatment options. She also provided some practical daily exercises and therapies that I could use, and was also helpful with follow-ups over email several weeks later. šŸ™‚

Would give 0 stars if I could. Been trying for almost a MONTH just to make an appointment here after I was referred for surgery. The customer service is horrendous and completely unorganized. Does not inspire confidence that I will be cared for properly here. I have decided to look elsewhere to have my procedure done, and after looking at these reviews I'm so glad I did! RUN, do not walk from this place!!!

Had to cancel a wisdom teeth removal with a different provider for insurance issues. Tried to call this clinic multiple times because I've had good experiences with UCSF except apparently this place can't answer their phone. I have been on hold with them for almost five hours total. Don't really trust a doctors office that can't do something as simple as answer a phone.

After reading all the reviews I realize I am not alone and that all dental services that assist people who are low income are gravely Iā€™ll sue to lack of care or dentist who do horrendous treatments to top it off the customer service from every outlet has been so disrespectful. I have reported this issue to everyone I could and if anyone reading this can get together with me because a law suit needs to start UCSF dental schools WESTERN DENTAL ETC all of them are neglecting and abusing their patients who are basically dying and getting sicker by the day due to lack of help. I donā€™t know what to do but if you are sick and tired from being sick and tired then letā€™s band together so this situation can go public and we can finally be heard.
