I consulted Dr. Wen Fan for the wisdom tooth extraction and he missed to advice properly. Dr. Fan rushed through the consultation and he didn't mention of the adverse effect of post surgery medications with my pre-existing medical condition- very serious missed. I went for the second opinion to another oral surgeon and I found out that Dr. Wen Fan's charges are way beyond some of the oral surgeon charges in area. He charged $670+ for the consultation and 3D-CT scan. Better and very highly rated dental surgeons in Cupertino-sunnyvale area charge close to $400+ for the consultation and 3D-CT scan. If you decide to go with Dr. Wen Fan for extraction make sure you do within 6 months of initial consultation otherwise you have to pay again $670+. Please listen to attached audio. They require another X-ray after 6 months- is this California Dental Association's standard practice for wisdom tooth extraction This could be a good case to refer to professional association to find out.

Should have walked out of the consultation at the time of checkein (was thinking back of my mind) with so many red flags and them insisting 3D-CT scan before hand.

When I made the consultation appointment, I asked front desk can doctor use the my recent full mouth X-ray at my regular dentist, she said yes and if needed a 3D-CT scan will be taken with cost of $670+. When I went for the consultation appointment they immediately insisted me to take a 3D-CT scan -- red flag. I told them that they have my X-ray from regular dentist. Then she looked at X-ray and said they cannot use it.
Since most of the wisdom teeth extraction consultation doesn't need 3D-CT scan, most of the time can be consulted with regular X-ray, I asked the front desk to check with Dr. Wen before proceeding. She went to the closed patients' area to asked Dr. Wen. She came back with a minute or two and said I need a 3D-CT scan -- another red flag. Seems like Dr. Wen was not with patient and answered right away. Took a face value as answered. Since thinking to do extraction with Dr. Wen.
Well, after unsatisfactory consultation Dr. Wen, rushed the appointment, not explaining surgery, not discussing of risk applies to my particular case unless pressured,... --, another red flag, I decided to get a second opinion and happy that I found right dentist second time.
Dr, Wen office tried to get me again at the time of checkout. They offered me to schedule the extraction date that I cannot cancel without paying cancelation fee. Say, if I had schedule a surgery date 30 days out and I called 25 days before the surgery date to cancel I end up paying cancelation fee that would have run into few hundreds to thousands dollars. This cancelation policy is not there on their website anywhere.

Another red flag, I asked for wisdom teeth extraction surgery cost while making the consultation appointment, they didn't provide and said it depends on patient, work, complication.... Understood, I asked give me a range - they said can't give that either.

I had my second implant done with Dr. Fan and everything went well as my first implant, which I did 5 years ago with same doctor.

Dr. Fan is amazing, he is knowledgeable, experienced and explained all the procedures and answered all my questions patiently.
I decided to go through local anasthesia for my surgery and I really appraciate it that Dr. fan was informing me about the next steps and what he was doing throughout the surgery. I didn’t feel any pain during tooth extraction and bone graft and had a speedy post surgery recovery. Thank you Dr. Fan!

They also have a very friendly front desk. I would highly recommend this place!

I got my wisdom teeth removed at this place. The doctor is excellent and did a wonderful job. It took him barely 25 minutes for the surgery for my 3 wisdom teeth(one was never developed). Two of my teeth were below the gums and one was horizontal. The dentist is really an expert. No swelling post surgery and least inconvenience caused. The staff was super helpful and was able to give me appointment soon. They were clear about the insurance costs and my copayment which i was informed before my surgery. They gave detailed instructions for post surgery. Highly recommended, could not have hoped for a better experience.

I had my wisdom teeth extraction here. I went through general anesthesia to remove 4 teeth at once. And one of my teeth is growing horizontally.
The procedure went fast and smoothly. They provided very detailed and clear post-surgery instruction, which was really helpful. What surprised me was that my face doesn't swell at all!!! I can almost eat normally within a week.
