I can’t thank Dr. Zama and his team at Zama Dental enough! I recently had a dental emergency when I broke a tooth, and I was absolutely terrified. I’ve always been scared of going to the dentist, but this experience completely changed my perspective.

The moment I walked in, everyone was super friendly and understanding. The office is clean and modern, which made me feel a lot better right away. Dr. Zama was so kind and took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done.

I needed a dental implant and was really nervous about the whole thing. But Dr. Zama was amazing—he made sure I was comfortable, and I swear I didn’t even feel the shot! He took his time with the anesthetic to make sure it didn’t hurt. The whole process was smooth and, most importantly, painless.

It's 2 days before my 41st birthday, and I just walked out of yet another fantastic experience at Dr. Zama's office.

Fantastic... and Dentist? Whaaaat? These words put together are simply, unheard of.

My mother found Dr. Zama online and saved my mouth by referring me to him.

About my experiences with Dr. Zama:

His Approach:
gentle. Very, very, gentle....
-No pain is an understatement. Even with a root canal, composite filling, and crown replacement. -No screaming. -No squirming. -No gripping the arm rests of the chair until my fingers turn white.
Literally, I felt like I was in a spa getting a facial.

His Technique:
accurate, precise, detailed and extremely careful with his work.

His Knowledge and Expertise:
Dr. Zama has studied medicine and dentistry at two different post-graduate universities: one in Romania, and a second post-graduate degree at USC, before gaining his current accreditations and opening his own office in Torrance.
He spends his time focused on advancements in the industry. He cares deeply about his work, so much that he is constantly traveling to conferences and events. He always returns to the office with a wealth of knowledge on new best practices, technology, and treatment methods.

His Work Ethic:
He is honest. He is a perfectionist, without the trumped-up ego. He is calm, even under pressure. He is genuine. He cares about your personal experience, both during and after your visits.
He takes his time to be thorough with every patient. Most often, I find him working from 6am in the morning until 8pm at night.
His practice is his "baby".
Most his spare time is spent at work.
On some days you will find him answering phones while taking appointments, most importantly.... He always responds.

His Office:
-Clean. Meditation Zen music plays in the background. Private and very quiet space. White marble front desk, aroma therapy lavender votive oils, adjustable central cooling/ heating, comfortable reclining chairs with adjustable head rests and leg rests. Brand new high-tech 3D imaging and analysis equipment. He also creates same-day Cerec crowns in-office!

His Personality:
-Very professional. -Mellow tempered. -Very easy to communicate with, about health and dental related issues. -Understanding. -Most importantly, he is calm under pressure and in every situation (even dental emergencies).

I've been a patient of Dr Zama's for a few years now. It's hard to express just how great a dentist he is. It's not just his talent, which he has in abundance. It's his patience, his demeanor, his empathy, and his sense of humor. I remember the first time I went in for a crown prep with him. As I waited for the shot of novocaine (or whatever they use now), I was gripping the armrests in anticipation. He massaged my gums, and while I was waiting for the pain, he suddenly said, "OK, done." I've had many of these oral shots in the past, but I'd never experienced such a painless one. I didn't even know it was possible. When I say there was zero pain, I mean there was ZERO pain. Before I saw Dr. Zama for the first time, I hadn't been to a dentist in many years, and my mouth was a mess. I needed many crowns and fillings done. It was frankly overwhelming looking at the x-rays and hearing how many appointments it would take to fix my teeth. Now, it's been a few years, and my smile is almost back to normal. I don't think I could have gotten through all this work without Dr. Zama. He is incredibly patient, and never rushes. He is precise to the point of perfectionism. I've never had to go in for corrections after any of his work. He has perfected both the science and the art of dentistry. He listens to my concerns and makes sure I know that I have agency over my own care. Let me finish by sharing an experience with him that cemented his place as the best dentist I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. I'm 45 years old, and have been seeing dentists since I was a kid. Before him, every time I'd had a procedure on any of my lower teeth that required drilling, I experienced pain, a lot of pain. I always told my dentists this, but they assured me it was in my head and that it was impossible for me to feel anything. During my first procedure with Dr. Zama on my lower teeth, I told him this, and for the first time in my life, someone believed me! It turns out, I have an extra branch to my trigeminal nerve, and this rare condition requires an extra shot. He painlessly gave me the extra shot, and it worked. He figured this out in minutes. He is amazing. I wouldn't dream of seeing anyone else. If you want a gentle, caring, patient, professional dentist, don't look any further. You've found him. Thank you, Dr. Zama.
