I just finished having 4 implant pins put in my upper jaw. Make no mistake it was all a painful experience, mostly afterwards when the numbing wore off. The entire staff was just fantastic every step of the way. I traveled to Anchorage to have this procedure done and the staff was great about rescheduling due to travel conflicts. I liked Dr Szutz, he laid things out straight and clearly. I felt completely involved and aware the entire way thru all of the appointments/follow-ups. I would happily refer these folks. Dr Szutz manages a great team and provides a clear style of communication, that I appreciated.

Doctor Bradley and his team took all 4 wisdom teeth out at once, and made the most unpleasant thing very comfortable and safe! Recovery was a breeze and they were there to help answer any questions and help with issues down the road. Competitive pricing! Highly recommend.

Beware that a legitimate cancelled appointment was forwarded to collections. They don't take BlueCross/BlueShield Federal - one of the most widely used insurances. I ended up paying $225.44 for absolutely ZERO services, and there wasn't even an issue to be performed - all was based on a 'bogus referral' they received. We live in an evil world, full of thieves, and Alaska Oral is on the list. Ridiculous business practice, never again will I be talked into 'a referral', costly experience, yet could have been much worse - like "allowing them to perform". Caution recommended. ZERO STARS.

Recently underwent a dental procedure by Dr Bradley Szutz at Alaska Oral Surgey Group and would like to say how pleased I was with the treatment provided! The office staff were courteous and treated me respectfully. The dental assistants were knowledgeable and didn't mind answering questions. Dr Szutz was very personable and gave a thorough explanation of the procedure, possible complications and sedation options. He is a very skilled professional and runs a great clinic.

The staff here is ridiculous. I got a Va referral here and the office girls are rude and disrespectful. When I made it to my appointment for the consultation the office girls were rude and pushy. They want you to just sign a pad without seeing what you’re signing. When you ask to see the forms and what you’re signing they get upset. After the appointment it was time to schedule the procedure and they were very pushy and demanding. When I got home and had a chance to think about it I called and canceled the surgery even though it would be completely free to me. The office girl was again rude and was trying to belittle me and threatened to tell on me to the VA like they are my parents and control me. I don’t care if the care would be free because of VA I will never get care from people I don’t trust. The way they conduct themselves on the phone and in the office is so bizarre I couldn’t risk it.

Do not use this practice for any services. My wife had oral surgery that was performed by them in January 2022. We paid the insurance co pay amount that we were told by the office was due on the day of the procedure. Here we are two years later (May 2024) and we receive a bill from the doctor for $243 that is categorized as being over 90 days due. When we called the office, their only explanation was that it appears we were under charged. No specific answer on why or what for and no other notice or phone call in the 2 years since the surgery. It appears that they are a shady practice that is probably under water and is trying to go back and manufacture additional billing on customers.

Saw Dr. Stutz for wisdom teeth removal- at the consult I was told numerous times I would be ASLEEP for the procedure. Not once did anyone use the words “conscious sedation” only “I.V. sedation”. Then as I was in the chair assuming I would be going to sleep, he stated for the FIRST TIME that they only offer “conscious sedation”. At that point I was under sedation and my mouth completely numb- I was asked if I wanted to continue- I was very scared and felt trapped and like I couldn’t advocate for myself in that position so I said yes. I should not have been the one answering that question while I was in that state. Then when I went in for a follow up appointment I asked him about it and it felt like he was trying to insinuate that it was my fault for not understanding what sedation is- even though I’m not the one with the medical degree and it’s his job to make sure I completely understand what it means. I understand what ASLEEP means, because that’s the word that was used over and over and over. I even said the words “I want to be asleep.” They said they could do that- then at the VERY LAST SECOND I was told otherwise. He “apologized” for it happening that way, but did not seem genuine. He did not take accountability for the fact that it was his responsibility to make sure I knew what would be happening, and was not very sympathetic to my frustration and fear of what happened. His attitude was very much “well I can’t change the past so oh well- do you have any questions for me?” I already had issues with dentists and people looking in my mouth, and I have even more now thanks to him. I DO NOT recommend. Very unprofessional. I sincerely hope he reflects on this situation and that nobody else has to go through that.

Went in for a consultation for a tooth extraction and implant. They would only quote me for the tooth extraction first, then after the extraction surgery they would quote me for the implant. Seemed normal. Actual extraction surgery went great. Went back in for the implant consultation and was waiting for my quote and heard the assistant say to the Dr. "I'm just trying to get you more money." I look at the quote, 13 THOUSAND DOLLARS. Obviously opted NOT to go back to them for the implant. And had it ended there I wouldn't be writing this review. But then I started getting my EOB's from insurance. The first ones seemed normal. What the in-network discount is, what my insurance covered, what I owe. But then throughout the year I started getting more EOB's for the same procedures, and every time the in-network discount and what my insurance covered would get lower, and the amount I owed would get higher. This happened 3 different times in the year following my procedure. Then I get an invoice 8 months after the procedure saying I owe them more money and if I don't pay they're sending me to collections. I got ahold of the company who does their billing in Atlanta, and the lady that has been helping me is incredibly nice and agrees something is not right. Anyways, that's my story. I've never written a review like this, but wanted to warn whoever is looking for an oral surgeon. Would not recommend.
